Description

The main aim of the project is to acquire necessary equipment in order to manufacture a new and improved generation of body pump for gasoline direct injection for hybrid cars and electrification. The objective of the project is to implement new innovative and green technologies that will enable Compa to manufacture new components with reduced environmental impact. The equipment acquired will be used to produce a new and improved generation of body pump for GDI (gasoline direct injection). GDI is one of the pillars of the hybrid cars and electrification. Hybrid cars will continue to gain market share by using an increasing number of GDI components. Key activities include:

  • Project start-up by contracting project management team, define objectives, adopt a management strategy, perform risk analysis and awareness of expected results.
  • Equipment acquisition by preparing documentation, editing specification, contract awarding and acquisition.
  • Publicity and visibility acquisitions.
  • Implementing according to the Corporate Social Responsibility approach.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress.

Expected result include CO2 emissions consumption to decrease from 1.417,98 to/year to 723,17 to/year. The project will also generate 10 new jobs.

The project is done in partnership with International Development Norway (IDN) and the Norwegian university NTNU. IDN will integrate the acquired machines and the innovative process into a workshop. They will also provide technical coordination throughout the project implementation period, participating in all relevant areas of expertise. NTNU role is to design together with Compa a new and innovative process using the project machines, as well as process optimization based on the initial/standard setup from the machine producer and NTNU’s experience from similar machines in Norway.

Summary of project results

At the end of the implementation period, the project registered the following results:
-  specific energy consumption was reduced from 650 kW/h to 331,5 kW/h;
- CO2 emissions consumption were reduced from 1.417,98 to/year to 723,17 to/year;
- other emissions consumption were reduced from 4,98 to/year to 2,5 to/year;
- volume of oil consumption in process was reduced from 66.600 liters/year to 22.200 liters/year.
-  the surface used for placing the equipment was reduced from 2000 sqm to 300 sqm;
- The project increased turnover and profitability of the company involved.
