Description

The main objective of the project is implementation of a photovoltaic system on the current production building roof of Rasub, with a total installed capacity of a 0,164 MWp, in order to assure electricity from renewable sources for manufacturing of wood joinery and carpentry elements and to reduce CO2 emissions.

The installation of the photovoltaic system has obvious advantages due to the use of renewable energy and the reduction of energy costs. The system is planned to be installed on the roof of the factory and is estimated to deliver around 30% of the total necessary electricity, therefore the rest will be taken from the national grid. The photovoltaic system will be implemented on the 900 sqm. of the roof where the panels will be placed and fastened with aluminium structure.

The investment targeted by this project has a positive impact on the company. Its implementation reduces the energy consumption from conventional sources, provides energy cost economy and gives a partial energy autonomy. Value is also created through the improvement of the company’s image by using renewable energy sources. Key activities of the project includes:

  • Acquisition of the photovoltaic system.
  • External consultancy.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

Expected outcomes of the project includes an estimated annual CO2 emissions reductions by 50 tonnes and electric energy produced from renewable sources is estimated to be 164 MWh/year.

The project will be implemented in partnership with the Norwegian company Centec Norge AS. They will provide guidance and assistance in developing procedures for the good practice of buying products and services that can help protect the environment.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project was achieved, respectively to build a new photovoltaic system, placed on the roof of the building owned by the Promoter, covering own consumption of approx. 32% of the total energy used on site. The photovoltaic system has an installed capacity of 0,16445 MW and the Promoter confirmed that all electricity produced by the photovoltaic system will be used for own consumption.

Results:
- estimated annual CO2 emissions reductions by 50 tonnes,
- electric energy produced from renewable sources is estimated to be 164 MWh/year.

Summary of bilateral results

Within the project partnership, the Norwegian Partner, Centec Norge AS, provided guidance and support to the Promoter in order to develop procedures for good purchasing practices for products and services that can help protect the environment. The implementation of the bilateral component also aimed for Rasub to develop its practical skills and abilities to set the criteria and make the right choices for green procurement of the photovoltaic system as well as for future procurements. A report was drawn up by the Norwegian Partner on green procurement.
