Description

The main objective of the project is implementation of a photovoltaic system in order to ensure electricity from renewable resources for the production unit, to reduce CO2 emissions and to achieve partial energy independence. Based on internal research activities, as well as the current situation regarding the need for improvement of energy consumption, the results concluded that by placing a photovoltaic system on the roof of the production unit with a total area of almost 10 000 square meters, the company will be able to reduce energy costs for the production process, increase security of energy supply and reduce CO2 emissions.

The technical solution proposes developing a 299 KW photovoltaic plant with direct energy injection into the company''s own network. The photovoltaic plant will be connected to the electricity grid, without active energy injection into the distribution operator''s grid, only for own consumption purposes.  The photovoltaic panels will be placed on the roof of the production hall. For the conversion of photovoltaic energy, 12 inverters with nominal power of 25 KW each will be used. The photovoltaic system will produce 346 MWh/year for own consumption. The energy produced from green sources will cover 34% of the consumption need, the rest will be provided by the national network.

Key activities include:

  • Delivery of equipment and installation of PV system.
  • Technical design and assistance.
  • Project management.
  • Financial audit.
  • Publicity to ensure visibility of the project.

The investment targeted by this project has a positive impact on the company. Its implementation reduces energy consumption from conventional sources, generates energy cost savings and gives a partial energy autonomy. Furthermore, through the reduction of CO2 emissions generated by the production process, the company will green its activity with positive impact on the environment.

Summary of project results

One photovoltaic system was set up having an installed capacity of 0.300 MW.  Regarding the expected outcomes, such as estimated annual CO2 emission reductions and  energy produced from other renewable sources in MWh/Year, will be provided by the Promoter in the Annual Project Report, since the project has just finished and the results will be seen after a year after the project implementation.
