Description

The main objective of the project is to reduce the energy poverty through the electrification of the 52 households by using energy produced from photovoltaic panels in Harghita County and ensuring normal living conditions for a number of 112 people who will benefit from the connection to electrification solutions.

In Harghita county there are a number of 398 isolated, not connected houses. The inhabitants face the lack of electrification, registering the lack of TV, washing machine, but also other elements such as the lack of a refrigerator, lack of access to light, lack access to electronic equipment that can facilitate education. Harghita County Council identified off-grid solutions, through renewable sources, where the classic energy supply solution was not economical feasible. To provide energy electric, decentralized systems, primarily off-grid photovoltaic panels, have been identified as the cheapest solution for the necessary connections. The green electricity will supply the houses which currently are not electrified.

The photovoltaic system proposed to be purchased and installed through this project is off grid and with storage that allows production of electricity through photovoltaic solar panels to power consumers, regardless of external electricity suppliers. This off grid photovoltaic system produces electricity during the day and feeds consumers. The surplus production is stored in batteries, electricity being available both day and night. The off grid photovoltaic system is the solution optimal for isolated households, located at great distances from the electricity grid.

Expected outcome of the project includes 112 persons benefitting from being connecting to electricity solutions, CO2 annually decrease by 73 tonnes and energy produced from renewable sources will be around 124,28 MWh/year.
