Description

Valea Stanciului Vocational School wants to bring a change in the approach to education that we offer VET students in vocational training, a quality education that meets both the needs of students and the needs of parents and businesses, the local community. meaning the project "Quality VET Internships" for 6 teachers and 3 representatives of the economic agent partner BODRUMI PERST who will have practical experiences in the Study Visit carried out at the host organization Technical School of Paphos in Paphos, Cyprus.

Project objectives:

- to train for 6 teachers of the school and 3 future tutors from the local company high competencies regarding the realization of internships at work of students in the field of agricultural mechanics;

- to create a framework for streamlining the practical activity carried out by the VET students of the school, at the local companies.

The products that will be developed by the 9 participants:

1 Practice contract,

2 improved CDLs,

1 Guide to good practices in tutoring,

1 methodology for collaborating with economic agents,

1 glossary of technical / pedagogical terms in English,

1 comparative analysis on student satisfaction before and after the study visit.

Intangible results:

- 5 teachers: they will improve with min. 80% teaching skills for practical internships;

-1 manager: will know how to establish monitoring systems to examine the effectiveness of measures implemented by the school, will develop the ability to communicate with managers, will know how to coordinate the implementation of a partnership with a company for internships;

-3 company representatives: they will know how to organize, monitor and evaluate a professional internship

Summary of project results

Valea Stanciului Vocational School wanted to bring about a change in the approach to education that it offers to VET students in professional training, a quality education that satisfies both the needs of students and the needs of parents and economic agents and the local community. The "Quality VET Internships" project addressed a number of 6 teaching staff and a number of 3 representatives of the partner economic agent BODRAMI PREST who had practical experiences in the Study Visit that took place at the host organization Technical School of Paphos in Paphos, Cyprus Analyzing the needs of the students, the needs of the school and the local community, the way in which the theoretical training is carried out and especially the practice of the students in the mechanical field and the opportunities offered by local economic agents, the reduced capacity of the practical activities carried out in the vocational education classes was established, the Agricultural Mechanic qualification. I considered that this project was an extraordinary opportunity for the partner economic agent to experience tutoring according to a European model. The objectives of the project were: - to train 6 school teachers and 3 future tutors from the local economic agent skills high expectations regarding the realization of the internships at the workplace of the students in the field of agricultural mechanics, on a tutoring basis, by directly participating in the Study Visit in Cyprus in such a way as to generate an impact that translates into a very good practical training of the students at the economic agent, so that they, upon graduation, have a job or initiate entrepreneurial activities in the field of agricultural mechanics. - train managerial skills regarding the design, implementation and monitoring of tutoring activities for the school manager during the study visit; for all 9 participants linguistic skills for English, pedagogical and cultural based on the direct experiences from the Study Visit; - to create a framework for streamlining the practical activity carried out by the VET students of the school, at local economic agents, by developing a set of 6 products of the project based on the tutoring models in Cyprus.

The participants were selected according to the following categories: - 4 teaching staff qualified as agricultural mechanic; - 1 director; - 1 English teacher; - 3 representatives of the partner economic agent Bodrami Prest SRL; The activities that took place in the project were:- activities regarding project contracting and communication with partners; - project management and management activities; - selection of participants from the 2 partner institutions (school and economic agent); - training of the 8 participants (pedagogical, cultural and linguistic) and teacher training pedagogical and cultural English. The language training course for the English language was held by professional trainers; - the conduct of the Study Visit in Paphos, Cyprus, at the host institution, Technical School of Paphos; the Study Visit in November 2022, took place at the host partner Technical School of Paphos from Cyprus which organized daily practical activities, demonstration workshops, debates, job shadowing, visits to economic agents, cultural activities. All activities were based on the organization of practical internships with tutoring on the Cyprus model, in which the 9 participants they actively involved and internalized the examples of good practice.

The products developed by the 9 participants were: 1 Practice contract, 2 improved CDLs, 1 Guide to best practices in carrying out internships at the economic agent, 1 methodology for collaboration with economic agents, 1 glossary of technical/pedagogical terms in English , 1 comparative analysis of student satisfaction before and after the study visit. The results obtained were: - 6 teachers improved their teaching skills by at least 80% for practical internships; they improved their ability to cooperate and solve problems professional tasks in the team; have developed their ability to communicate in English (min. A2); they developed new didactic strategies and developed unitary work tools in the internships (project products) with tutoring in collaboration with the economic agent, -1 director learned how to establish monitoring systems to examine the effectiveness of the measures implemented by school; developed the ability to communicate with managers; learned how to coordinate the implementation of a partnership collaboration with a company for practical internships;-3 economic agent representatives learned how to organize, monitor and evaluate a professional internship with tutoring by collaborating with teaching staff; they improved their pedagogical skills necessary for professional training of students and the ability to cooperate and solve professional tasks within the team with teachers during the practical internships; they improved their ability to communicate in English. The pedagogical models adopted by the 9 participants in the Visit and as a result of the performance of tasks in the team led to better coordination between the school and the partner economic agent, coordination that will also be transferred to other agents. The success of the promotion/dissemination activities was ensured by their good organization throughout the implementation period, but also after the completion of the project. The implementation of the project brought a lot of enthusiasm to the teaching staff and also to the economic operator in carrying out activities with the students.
