Description

In the context of the Covid19 pandemic in Romania, the rate of absenteeism and school dropout increased, so we want to carry out the project "Health and well-being in school", to promote learning activities through outdoor cooperation and reconnect students and teachers with the school.

The general objective is to improve the professional skills of educational experts at CJRAE Alba on learning through outdoor cooperation, in order to optimize well-being, school attendance, learning motivation, self-esteem, socio-emotional skills of primary and secondary students.

Number and profile of participants: in mobility - 6 school counselors from schools where there are students with special educational needs and minorities; in the project - 40 school counselors, 40 teachers, 1500 students and 400 parents from Alba County.

Description of activities: 6 school counselors will participate through 2 mobility flows in Iceland, the course providers are: Smart Teachers Play More (13-19.03.2022) and InterCultural Iceland (1-7.05.2022). They will train 40 school counselors and 40 teachers and implement an outdoor cooperative learning program for at least 1500 students.

The evaluation of the results will be done following the application and analysis of the questionnaires completed by students, teachers and parents before and after the implementation of the program.

Description of results: Acquisition of international experience, training of 50 teachers in the county; 1500 participating students will impact peers by learning in pairs; specialized articles, 1 good practice guide; 1 report with the research results after the implementation of the intervention program; 1 Facebook page.

Impact: 6 experts, 40 school counselors, 40 teachers, 1500 students, 400 parents, 720 outdoor activities, minimum 50  schools in Alba County.

Summary of project results

  • The project addressed the Program''s priorities and objectives, as well as those specific to the school education, contributing to the development of the institution''s capacity to promote the improvement of educational practices oriented towards well-being, socio-emotional development and school cohesion in a post-pandemic context.

The narrative report and participant reports indicate good relevance of the two training activities and the achievement of good learning outcomes.

  • The collaboration with the two training institutions in Iceland went very well.
  • The organizational, logistical, pedagogical and cultural training activities are well described.
  • Additional efforts and activities were made to reach the estimated target groups.
  • Learning outcomes have been validated, and professional/continuing training credits have been recognized based on the Europass mobility document.
  • The report presents the pursued objectives and demonstrates their achievement through the implementation of mobility and local activities.
  • The impact of the project is well described at the level of mobility participants and at the institutional level.
  • Various dissemination activities were carried out (articles, workshops, conference).
  • The collection of activities "Health and well-being in school" has a good methodological value, with potential for application in the classroom and outdoors.
