Description

The problem addressed by the project starts from the fact that the results and impact of the activity of NGOs in Bacau county hardly reach the general public due to the lack of effective means of communication with the public, the low visibility of their actions and the lack of communication skills among human resources. This leads to a low public image and visibility, as well as to a poorly consolidated relationship with the local business environment, not reflected in financial and material support from them.
The project proposes activities to increase the visibility of the impact of NGOs, such as the creation of a mural painting representative of the non-governmental sector in Bacau in consultation with NGOs, a storytelling campaign on the impact of the non-governmental sector in the local community and the development of a platform to showcase Bacau organisations.
The activities target at least 50,000 citizens in Bacau county, 15 non-governmental organisations and at least 5 private companies. The targeted organisations are active in the social, educational, health and youth fields. They serve vulnerable communities in the county, their beneficiaries being children, young people and low-income families, those with difficult access to state education, health and social services, the lack of which the organisations try to fill. Organisations will benefit from a branding programme, meetings with people from the private sector, communications training and visibility through online and offline actions. The project is a continuation of the TACT - Active Youth for Community initiative, implemented between April 2021 and February 2023, financed through ACF Fund,  and brings together the expertise of two organisations that have developed numerous programmes and materials to promote the NGO environment in Bacau County over the last 9 years, such as studies, guides, trainings or community events dedicated to organisations.

Summary of project results

The project started from the need of the NGO sector in Bacău County to be better promoted among the general public and the local business environment.

The project carried out a series of activities that promoted the impact of NGOs in the community, meetings with the business community, development of communication skills and networking sessions between organizations. Through the project, the first mural painting dedicated to NGOs in Bacău County was realized on an area of more than 160 square meters, following a participatory process. The website www.ongbacau.ro was developed, presenting 23 NGOs and stories of their activities. In December 2023, a campaign was carried out to promote the storytelling articles online and through paintings realized by the students of the George Apostu National College of Art, exhibited in an exhibition with 60 visitors, held in December-January 2024, at the Bacău Art Museum. Training activities were organized for NGO representatives on communication, brand development, communication and fundraising. 5 organizations benefited from the support of 3 communication experts for a branding program.

The 5 NGOs entered in the program benefited from meetings in physical and online format with the 3 experts, the sessions included the part of analysis of the activity and its segmentation into communication pillars to be used in social media communication. In March 2023, the Hackton CSR in Bacău event was held, which brought together 64 representatives of NGOs and local entrepreneurs who discussed how the organizations'' actions can be integrated into the CSR strategies of local companies. In total, 248 people participated in the project activities during the implementation period and the impact on social networks exceeded 100 thousand people.
