Description
GO AHEAD WITH YOUR BEST DREAM! is a caravan aimed at shifting mentalities regarding the need of teens for personal development and counseling, but also the need for visibility, public image and trust in NGOs.The caravan will reach 35 schools in 8 regions - 5005 students, teachers, parents, public and private sectors, academia. At the same time, it implies a documentary film produced and launched during an innovative event which will present the realities of the society we live in, a society in which ¼ of teens never speak with their parents about problems, do not know how to handle their negative emotions and have to work in the household instead of attending school, while not having access to personal development and counseling programs. It will be a strong message which will reach over 50000 persons through the media campaigns, the voices of the volunteers, ambassadors, influencers as well as through the documentary film which we aim to lead to an increase in the confidence of the population in NGOs, in their projects and especially in the projects of GO-AHEAD, to an increase of its visibility and in the no of supporters, as well as raising awareness on the importance of personal development programs in schools. The project is a national continuation of EDURIGHTS4GIRLS(financed by ACF)which showed the positive impact of personal development and group therapy sessions for 480 girls and 210 teachers from 15 vocational highschools from NT and SV. We plan on going forward to vocational highschools throughout the country in order to shift the stigma of these students as being less capable and to help those who are in vulnerable situations to become their best possible version. In our endeavor, we partner with Art for Change Foundation, together with whom we implemented another project consisting of Affirmative Art activities and, by coming from Norway in which civil society is visible and important,P1 has extensive experience in caravans in vulnerable communities.
Summary of project results
The project aimed to change mentalities regarding the need for personal development and counseling for young people, as well as increase the visibility, public image, and trust in civil society through specific local intervention actions and broad awareness efforts. It addressed issues such as the stigmatization of students from vocational high schools, the lack of access to socio-emotional development, and the low trust in civil society.
During the "GO AHEAD WITH YOUR BEST DREAM" Caravan, the team conducted socio-emotional development workshops using Affirmative Art techniques for 437 people from 12 vocational high schools, including students and teachers. Discussions covered the students'' educational and career paths, the importance of personal development in both their educational and professional journeys, as well as the role of civil society, with the involvement of business agents and education representatives. The social media course aimed to attract new supporters, increase the association''s visibility, and build a permanent team of volunteers.
The results included the recruitment of 13 ambassadors, 36 volunteers, 319 new donors, and the training of 46 students. The project also featured a documentary, which reached over 4,100 people in more than 40 locations, addressing prejudices against students from vocational schools and promoting the importance of socio-emotional development. The educational conference and documentary launch event brought together over 500 people, highlighting the urgent need for school counseling and the role of civil society in supporting and developing these systems. The project had a significant impact on the association, increasing the visibility of its actions by over 300%, leading to interviews on TV, radio, and articles in the press. Social media interaction tripled, strengthening relationships with the public and potential future partners. Additionally, the project raised public awareness about the benefits of vocational edu.
Summary of bilateral results
The project is implemented in partnership with the Art for Change Foundation in Norway. During the implementation period, the partner was actively involved in the development of both stages of the Caravan, carrying out all the Affirmative Art workshops in the high schools where the trip took place, in stage I, and in those where it was present, in stage II. The previous experience of the P1 trainer had an important word to say in the way he managed to engage the students in the activities, even if in some situations there was a language barrier - P1 insisted on not translating the student''s word for word, so that they could use their intuitiveness and creativity. This approach worked very well, and each workshop was held at least under good auspices. At the same time, prior to the Caravan, online meetings were held with P1 to discuss various organizational aspects and to establish the period and the way in which the Caravan takes place. P1 was actively involved in the implementation of the following activities: A1 - Project Management, A2 - Information and Communication, A7 - Organization and Conduct of the GO AHEAD WITH YOUR BEST DREAM caravan, A6 Recording a documentary in order to increase the degree of visibility, understanding and recognition of the positive impact that personal development has on the lives of young people in technological high schools.
