Description

This project aims to contribute to the realization of ENIND through various actions in the context of formal education (AESMP/EPADRC) and informal (CPCJ Alcobaca), with the aim of "ensuring conditions for education and free training of gender stereotypes "and" prevent/reduce violence in interpersonal relationships. "Being the principal governing body public prosecutor, the implementation of this project aims to simultaneously strengthen and enrich the existing local strategies of promotion and training of socio emotional competence in younger people (projects as "Origami"/"An adventure in the city"), in support of victims of domestic violence (GAVVD) and professional training in active and parents/families. The major groups of activities, are: 1 direct intervention in children from kindergarten; 2 direct intervention in children of the 1st and 2nd cycles; 3 direct intervention in young people of middle school and high school; 4 training of teatchers and non-academic staff and 5 empowerment of parents/families. The intervention in the younger people are based on design methodology through artistic tools and collaborative practices. The methods is based on the principle of teaching which ownership of significant learning involves the use of tools that facilitate the development of the cognitive skills of younger people, but also of its creative and reflective capabilities. Actions with the professionals and parents tend to reinforce and facilitate takeovers of gender equality and non-violence among children and young people, constituting simultaneously a form of sustainability and of spreading the project, after its formal terms. The goals set for flow binding to perceptions of gender equality and non-violence, to the change of stereotypes and attitudes/aggressive behavior, specifically, the increase in the number of gipsy girls in school attendance; the decrease of aggressive behaviors  and the inclusion of concrete actions in the area of citizenship education.

Summary of project results

The project aimed of "ensuring conditions for education and free training of gender stereotypes "and" prevent/reduce violence in interpersonal relationships. The implementation of this project aims to simultaneously strengthen and enrich the existing local strategies of promotion and training of socio emotional competence in younger people, in support of victims of domestic violence (GAVVD) and professional training in active and parents/families.

The project ''Inês=Pedro?'' implemented a Gender Violence Prevention Program throughout several schools in Alcobaça during two school years (2020/2021, 2021/2022) which involved the participation of 242 children and young people from the municipality, from 5 to 21 years of age, of which 109 were female and 133 were male. Within the scope of this project, 126 sessions were carried out by several local artists who were trained in the prevention of gender and domestic violence and who contributed with different artistic tools in the implementation of a more informal, creative and reflective pedagogical methodology.

It also involved operational assistants, education technicians and teachers in the prevention and intervention of violence within the school context. Over the two years of execution, 16 training actions were carried out for 277 professionals from the educational community of the municipality.

Ten artistic and debate sessions were also held on absenteeism and school dropout with families of children at risk of dropping out of school reported to the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People in the municipality of Alcobaça. In these sessions, 76 family members participated, 59 female and 17 male. A session was also held within the scope of this Project with 5 guardians of children and young people from the Grouping of Schools of São Martinho do Porto, 4 female participants and 1 male.

''Inês=Pedro?'' was developed in partnership with the School Group of São Martinho do Porto, the Professional School of Agriculture and Rural Development of Cister and the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People of the Municipality of Alcobaça. It was monitored and evaluated by UMAR - Alternative and Response Women''s Union (NGO).

The development of a program to prevent domestic and gender violence, considering all the activities implemented.

A total of 235 professionals trained (teaching and non-teaching professionals), 208 women and 27 men (considering activities 12 and 13).
