Description

The primary objective of the project is to support the proper operation of national asylum and migration management systems and ensure the right to apply for international protection through:
(1) Providing comprehensive legal support to migrants, including, in particular, persons applying for international protection in Poland. 
(2) Training courses for employees of government and local administration bodies, including specialised courses conducted by foreign experts concerning the identification of torture victims. 
(3) Organisation of conferences to strengthen cooperation between NGOs, international organizations and public administration. 
(4) Publications with comprehensive information on migration laws. 
(5) A website with constantly updated information on migration laws.  

Gender equality is relevant in case of this project, because Project Promoter will ensure equal access to trainings for male and female police officers. Indicator related to trainings will be monitored and disaggregated by gender.

Summary of project results

Support the proper functioning of national asylum and migration management systems and ensure the right to apply for international protection by:

(1) Providing comprehensive legal support to migrants, including in particular persons applying for international protection in Poland,

(2) Training of employees of government and self-government administration bodies, including specialized training with the participation of foreign experts in the identification of victims of torture, 

(3) The organisation of conferences to enhance cooperation between non-governmental organisations, international organisations and public administrations,

(4) A website containing updated information on migration law

Project achieved set results.

  • Legal support for foreigners residing in Poland, in administrative, judicial proceedings. A total of 3,542 legal advice/actions were provided;
  • Training on the identification of victims of torture according to the Istanbul Protocol;
  • Six films were created targeting foreigners on their rights and obligations in Poland;
  • Report on the situation of Ukrainian citizens in Poland;

The training in the area of support for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum and other vulnerable groups was attended by 705 people.
