OBJECTIVE:

Create an international platform for cultural collaboration between institutions, researchers and artists from Poland, Norway, and Iceland through development of entrepreneurship in culture, audience development, and inclusion of ethnic and national minorities.

OPERATIONAL GOALS:

  • improve management of cultural heritage through trainings in the field of entrepreneurship in culture;
  • strengthen competences of the museum personnel through trainings dedicated to the personnel of cultural institutions;
  • improve public access to art and culture through: trainings on how to handle persons with disabilities, making streaming available online, communicating activities in social media, as well as creating a digital archive;
  • popularize the concept of audience development by implementation of an audience development strategy shared on a social profile;
  • increase audience knowledge about Jewish cultural heritage through learning about Jewish culture (dances, food festivals, podcasts);
  • improve collaboration between institutions from Poland, Norway, and Iceland through established partnerships and intended long-term cooperation.

EVENTS:

  • "Digital Archive" showcasing results of the field research - collecting traditions of local communities and various ethnic groups recording generational memory of climate changes, old adaptation processes, community use of resources and good management practices, including audiovisual and archival materials in an artistically attractive and digitally accessible form;
  • workshops and festivals as part of the educational offer;
  • trainings and study visits within the framework of cultural diversity;
  • exhibition "Shelter" (showcasing issues related to the topics of climate change, ecology, migration, and cultural heritage of various ethnic and national groups) and outdoor exhibitions, as well as the conference "Shelter";
  • trainings on entrepreneurship in culture;
  • ...

Summary of project results

The main factors determining the need to implement the project included: - insufficient number of projects aimed at integrating ethnic and national minorities into cultural life - insufficient number of artistic projects in regional and international cooperation - insufficient number of interdisciplinary projects - insufficient number of innovative methodologies and research tools used by cultural institutions - limited staff competences in the field of cultural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage management - insufficient involvement of the recipients of culture and the audience - lack of sufficient information and promotion.

The Project implemented the assumptions of the “Culture” Program, and the activities  under the Project  led to: 1. improvement in the field of management of cultural heritage through training in entrepreneurship in culture 2. strengthening competences of the museum staff through training dedicated to staff of cultural institutions 3. improving the audience’s access to art and culture through training in servicing people with disabilities, streaming on the Internet, informing about social media activities, creating a digital archive 4. disseminating the concept of audience development through the implementation of the audience development strategy made available on the ED social profile 5. increasing the audience’s knowledge of Jewish cultural heritage through learning about Jewish culture (dances, culinary festivals, podcasts) 6. improvement of cooperation between institutions from Poland, Norway and Iceland thanks to established Partnerships and planned long-term cooperation

The main goal of the Project was: to create an international platform for cultural cooperation between institutions, researchers and artists from Poland, Norway and Iceland, serving the development of entrepreneurship in culture, the development of the audience and the inclusion of ethnic and national minorities. It was achieved due to the implementation of specific goals in cooperation with Partners, i.e

- A series of artistic ventures

- A series of interdisciplinary and educational projects

- A series of activities aimed at the inclusion of ethnic and national minorities

- Developing innovative methodologies and research tools

- Development of staff competences in the field of cultural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage management

- Audience development

- Information and promotion of the Project.

The following activities were implemented: 

-Digital archives

-Workshops and festivals as part of educational offer

-Trainings and study visits related to cultural diversity

-Exhibition, open-air exhibitions and Shelter conference

-Trainings in the scope of cultural entrepreneurship

-Publication of a book on the impact of climate changes on heritage

-Project promotion

Permanent effects of the Project were: scenario of the "Shelter" exhibition (1), digital archive (1) traditional book and e-book (1), scenarios of educational workshops (4), field research methodology (1), educational path at the exhibition (1) . As part of all activities planned for implementation in the OE, 14 new items will be introduced, going beyond the Applicant''s current scope of activities, not yet carried out in any of the Museum branches, and after the completion of the project, activities related to the digital disabilities, culinary festivals and international field research.

Within the project  66 artistic events were carried out as a result of cooperation with partner institution under the project,  21347 people attended the cultural and artistic events organized by the project in 15 cities ( Gdańsk, Trondheim, Tromso, Snaefellsnes, Reykjavik, Oslo, Akureyri, Poznań, Przywidz, Cedry Wielkie, Sierakowice).

Summary of bilateral results

Project consisted in the implementation of number of measures in cooperation with the following Donor State Partners and the National Partner:-Oslo School of Environmental Studies-Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø-Trøndelag Bildende Kunstnere in Trondheim-Norwegian house - Regional museum of Snæfellsnes in Iceland-Multicultural Office of Akureyri in Iceland-Icelandic Human Rights Centre in Reykjavik-Miniatura City Theatre in Gdansk.Project had a positive impact on the cooperation between the Beneficiary and Partners. The implementation of the project allowed international cooperation. The results produced by the Beneficiary and the Partners are used in their home institutions. In cooperation, a method of presenting the subject of the exhibition in an interdisciplinary approach were developed with the use of innovative methods activating the audience to take a new look at the issues related to climate change,ecology and cultural heritage. The knowledge provided by the partners and beneficiary obtained during the training on the creation of exhibitions, organising events etc. are used by them in their daily activities. During cooperation with a partner, permanent effects were created, like : the „Shelter” exhibition, educational scenarios on the impact of climate change on migration and the environment, and know-how acquired during training. question created the prospect of further cooperation with a partner. After the completion of the Project, the Beneficiary remains in contact with the Partners and will apply for further funding for the continuation of international cooperation.
