Description
The project will solve the problems of the inhabitants of the borough related to environmental pollution. The project realization results from, the need to look for an alternative to cost-intensive heating systems; elimination of pollution caused by CO2 emissions; adjustment of the borough ''s energy policy to EU requirements; promotion of the idea of energy saving; education out of concern for the natural environment; the use of the latest technologies to guarantee economic and social "profit". Thermo modernization of didactic buildings will reduce the demand for thermal energy used for heating purposes. Energy efficiency will increase, heat demand indicators will improve, thermal comfort and conditions of use of the facility will increase. The use of renewable energy sources will reduce the demand for non-renewable fuels for energy production, which will directly translate into a reduction in air pollution emissions and improvement of the environment. Thermal modernization of 4 school buildings by: reducing CO2 by 338.33 tons (95.76%), saving 2,987 GJ of energy, increasing the energy standard, saving energy from LED and renewable energy - 402.2 kW. Students and employees of 4 schools (254 students and 91 employees) by improving the quality of buildings, and therefore their working conditions, protecting the climate by reducing CO2 emissions by 3.
Summary of project results
The main objective of the project was to improve the efficiency of energy use in Primary Schools located in the Wojcieszków Commune, i.e. in the towns of Burzec, Siedliska, Wola Bystrzycka, Hermanów. The school buildings did not meet the technical requirements specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy of 5 July 2013. The project was intended to solve the problems of the users of these buildings, i.e.: poor condition of technical infrastructure caused by the lack of thermal modernisation of the buildings; failure to use renewable energy sources; high heat losses. These problems worsened the conditions of use of the building and the provision of educational services in it. The consumption of energy from conventional sources in the facility increased; and as a result, the costs of operating the buildings (DHW, heating, electricity) increased.
The project achieved the following effects:
1. Thermal modernization of the Primary School building in Burzec.
As part of the works performed, works related to thermal modernization of the buildings were carried out - including insulation of external walls, insulation of base walls and attic ceiling, replacement of doors, installation of new LED lighting fixtures, reconstruction of the central heating installation together with modernization of the heat source (pellet boiler) and works related to the installation of a photovoltaic installation.
2. Thermal modernization of the Primary School building in Siedliska.
As part of the works performed, works related to thermal modernization of the buildings were carried out - including insulation of external walls, insulation of base walls and attic ceiling, replacement of windows and doors, installation of new LED lighting fixtures, reconstruction of the central heating installation and works related to the installation of a photovoltaic installation.
3. Thermal modernization of the Primary School building in Wola Bystrzycka.
As part of the works performed, works related to thermal modernization of the building were carried out - including insulation of external walls, insulation of base walls, attic ceiling and roof, replacement of windows and doors, installation of new LED lighting fixtures and reconstruction of the central heating system.
4. Thermal modernization of the Primary School building in Hermanów.
As part of the works performed, works related to thermal modernization of the facility were carried out - including insulation of the roof and replacement of window and door joinery.
The works performed in the buildings are in line with the project''s objective, which is to improve the energy efficiency of school buildings.
In connection with the implementation of the Project, the following substantive scope was implemented:
- thermal modernization of 4 primary school buildings (primary school in Wola Bystrzycka, primary school in Burcu, primary school in Siedliska and primary school in Hermanów) with a total area of 2652.80 m2, the scope of which included the performance of the following construction works:
1 - Thermal modernization of external walls;
2 - Insulation of plinth walls;
3 - Insulation of attic ceilings;
4 - Insulation of roofs;
5 - Insulation of floors;
6 - Replacement of windows and doors;
7 - Construction of paving strips and ramps for the disabled;
8 - Replacement of lighting in buildings with energy-saving LED lighting;
9 - Installation of 4 photovoltaic systems with the following capacities - 2 pcs. with a capacity of 48.0 kW, 1 pc. with a capacity of 32 kW, 1 pc. with a capacity of 19.20 kW,
10 - Heat sources in buildings were modernized, replacing old coal boilers with heat pumps - 4 pcs. and biomass boilers (pellets) - 3 pcs.;
11 - Central heating installations in buildings were rebuilt;
12 - Energy management systems were installed in school buildings.
As a result of the project, the energy efficiency of school buildings improved. As part of the project, promotional and educational activities were also carried out, the recipients of which were residents of the commune and school youth.
