Summary of project results
The project implemented under the grant was aimed at strengthening the potential of the Think Tank Miasto Foundation by developing tools and competences necessary to effectively run a non-governmental organization, as well as strengthening activities for social participation. The vision of our organization is to create better cities and places that take into account the needs of users and expert knowledge. Our mission focuses on promoting participation, educating it, creating tools for dialogue, proposing solutions for cities and users, and ensuring the durability and quality of public spaces.
As part of the grant, we focused on strengthening our skills and organizational base, as well as on the development of communication strategies and building cooperation with local governments. Our goal was to systematize the Foundation''s activities. The first step was to prepare and describe internal procedures, the next was training in fundraising, thanks to which we submitted applications for four grants, of which we obtained two. We have established a Foundation Council consisting of five experts. The council was officially established in April 2024. We have prepared a communication strategy, including guidelines for maintaining our Facebook profile. We have modernized the website, including key information about the Foundation, our projects and a tab regarding project activities. We organized a workshop during which, together with 15 experts, we developed guidelines for a guide on conducting meetings with residents. Then, we trained 13 officials from the Piaseczno commune in organizing consultation meetings. We tested our guidelines in practice by supporting a consultation meeting with 57 people. As part of the Forum of Participation Practitioners in Krakow, we conducted workshops in which 33 people participated. We also organized an online seminar for 40 officials, sharing the effects of project activities and the developed guide. We developed a training program for local governments in the field of participation, and then conducted pilot training in Radom and Ostróda. 13 and 12 people took part in them, respectively. Both local governments organized consultation meetings. We supported their implementation by preparing, among others: information materials, meeting agenda and summaries. The training sessions were very positively received, which confirmed our belief in their value.
The project implemented with the grant significantly contributed to strengthening our Foundation, both in organizational and operational terms. Thanks to the knowledge we have acquired and the actions we have taken, we are better prepared to implement our mission and vision. Our Foundation is now more recognizable and our activities enjoy greater social trust. Thanks to the grant, we managed to establish and strengthen cooperation with key partners and establish new contacts with non-governmental organizations and local governments.
