Description

We want sport in Poland to be accessible to diverse social groups. Our aim is to counteract discrimination and to raise awareness in society of the different needs and abilities of people who practice sport. In this way, we want to contribute to social change. As part of the activities funded by the grant, we will conduct a two-day anti-discrimination workshop for students of the University of Physical Education in Krakow. Then we will host a cross-country skiing camp for people with disabilities and their assistants. We will run a social media campaign featuring women in sport and selected people from marginalised groups, such as sportsmen and sportswomen with disabilities. Members of our team will take part in training on fundaising, and the Foundation''s website will be created. We will establish a partnership with the University of Physical Education in Krakow and start cooperation with at least one sports club and other NGOs working against discrimination.

Summary of project results

By implementing activities under the Microgrant, we wanted to contribute to making sport available to a diverse group of people in Poland, increase awareness of the various needs and capabilities of people practicing sports, as well as counteract discrimination in sport.

As part of the activities financed by the grant, we organized a two-day anti-discrimination workshop for students of the University of Physical Education in Krakow. A several-day mountain recreational camp for People with Disabilities (OzN) and their caregivers and teachers, thanks to which People with Disabilities could feel noticed and empowered. We conducted a social campaign in our social media presenting, in addition to women in sports, selected people from marginalized groups, e.g. athletes with disabilities.
We designed and commissioned the creation of our foundation''s website.
We have established cooperation with the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow, a sports club and a women''s ice hockey team, and we have strengthened partnership with non-governmental organizations with an equality or feminist profile, i.e. the Siódemka Association and the Autonomia Foundation.
The foundation''s team took part in training to improve knowledge and competences in the area of social media and new trends in social media in 2024. and in a fundraising and crowdfunding workshop. In addition, team members strengthened their skills and competences in project management, achieving set goals, cooperation with institutions and organizations, and effective social media management.
Thanks to the implementation of the grant, our organization increased its recognition and strengthened its image, and people from the foundation''s team improved their competences and comfort, especially financial comfort of their work.

We organized a two-day anti-discrimination workshop for students of AWF Kraków in cooperation with the university. 12 people completed the application form, and ultimately 9 people took part in the workshop.
We organized a 4-day recreational camp for People with Disabilities (OzN) and their caregivers, which was attended by a total of 22 people.
The post with a summary of the recreational camp had 266 views and 38 activities, i.e. reactions, comments, shares and clicks.
The camp was a new experience and challenge for the group of People with Disabilities.
Two people from the foundation took part in 16 hours of training on social media (8 hours) and fundraising and crowdfunding (8 hours of meetings with an expert for only two people from our team). During the training meetings, a strategy for the development and promotion of the foundation in social media and a plan for obtaining support, including donations for the statutory purposes and activities of the foundation, were created.
We have created a website for our foundation (https://fundacjafairfem.org.pl/) and an extensive, content-rich foundation profile on Facebook and Instagram. We conducted a social campaign and regularly published educational content on our social media.
We have established a partnership with AWF Kraków, through Dr. Magdalena Żmuda-Pałka, with whom we plan to continue cooperation in subsequent workshops and on a research project (we are waiting for the results of the grant competition in May).
We have established cooperation with the women''s ice hockey team - KS Cracovia 1906, together with key players we have developed a training and match plan for the 2024/2025 season and submitted an application for funding to the Ministry of Sport and Tourism (results in May this year).
We have strengthened our partnership with the Autonomia foundation, at whose headquarters we intend to regularly conduct bicycle workshops for girls and women in the spring and summer season.
