Description

Research shows that people who came to Poland from Belarus lack a place where they can receive support, act together and cultivate their national culture. They lack opportunities to learn the Polish language effectively, including conversation with native speakers. Refugees and migrants experience isolation and fear of establishing relationships with Polish people. Our Association is a young organisation – we need support to develop and improve the competencies of the team, as well as expanding the contacts base of organisations with more experience. The main goal of the project is to facilitate the integration of people from Belarus in Poland. We want to activate these people, help them find work, counteract their exclusion and discrimination. As part of the project, we will launch a safe and friendly place for people from Belarus called Belarusian CZABOR Club, where they will be spending time and cultivating their traditions. We will run Polish language and conversation courses for our beneficiaries under the slogan: ''Polish – a piece of cake''. We will hold a series of concerts entitled ''Hearts in exchange for Hearts'', aimed at strengthening the positive image of immigrants in Polish society. We will also use the grant to develop our Association – acquiring new knowledge and partners among experienced organisations. This will help us increase the number of beneficiaries, as well as supporters and partners of our organisation. We will become more recognisable in the community, which will contribute to new paths and opportunities for further development.

Summary of project results

The project was intended to solve the following problems of immigrants and refugees from Belarus:
1. facilitating integration and adaptation in Polish society,
2. activation and increasing professional opportunities,
3. reducing the level of social exclusion and discrimination,
4. access to learning Polish for people with low income,
5. increasing acceptance of immigrants in Szczecin society.
Problems of the Association: increasing the audience, recognition, credibility and number of partners. Increasing management effectiveness, improving competences, establishing contacts with experienced organizations.

1. 2 business trips and contacts established with the Okno na Wschód Foundation and the Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra - Ochla. We received the 4th consultation. The visit to Zielona Góra resulted in an application for joint implementation of the Days of Slavic Culture.
2. Start of the Belarusian Club CZABOR. Belarusians had a place for learning Polish and for integration meetings. We reached our audience through targeted advertising and Facebook posts.
3. We carried out promotional and communication activities using a roll-up informing about the Project during the implementation of each activity. We informed the press and TV about the "Hearts for Hearts" concerts.
4. Completed Polish language courses (level A2-B1) and full-time conversations (40 meetings, 2 hours each = 80 hours). Refugees from Belarus and Ukraine with low incomes (adults and young people of different gender and health status) took part in the courses. We reached our audience through targeted advertising and Facebook posts.
5. Three concerts "Hearts in exchange for hearts" were carried out, addressed to immigrants, local society and the media. The stage was provided free of charge by a local Polish organization. Information about the concerts was published in local media, on the project''s subpage, on Facebook and in immigrant chat rooms. We also hosted TV.
As a result of the Project, the following were created: rented premises - 2 rooms, projector, 2 business trips, 4 consultations received, 2 targeted advertisements, 1 Project website subpage, 1 roll-up promoting the Project, 4 publications on the website subpage, 17 posts on Facebook and in immigrant chat rooms , 1 information meeting, 40 Polish lessons and 40 hours of conversation, 1 textbook (PDF, 146 pages) for Polish language lessons and 4 presentations (32 pages in total), 23 questionnaires completed by the recipients of Polish language courses, 1 report from a Polish language teacher, 15 declarations on meeting the conditions, 3 concerts of 2 hours each, performance of 3 music bands, rented sound system.

1. 3 people from the team received 4 consultations. The acquired knowledge will allow us to avoid obvious and unusual mistakes.
2. 3 partnerships - with the Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra and cooperation with the Marshal''s Office. We agreed with the Okno na Wschód Foundation for information support. Together with the Museum, we submitted an application for the joint implementation of the Slavic Culture Festival. We gained new partners and experience. They will learn about us in other Polish cities.
3. 28 integration meetings at the premises.
4. 36 people found support and connections with us.
5. We reached a wide audience. We made new friends and the association became more recognizable among immigrants and in local society.
6. The meeting summarizing the project was attended by 21 people - members of the association and guests. We discussed mistakes, ways and possibilities of continuing the project.
7. 16 people took advantage of the courses and conversations in Polish. Good academic results were achieved by 7 people who regularly/almost regularly attended classes. We plan to continue learning Polish in the format of discussion meetings.
8. Total project recipients - 193 people of different sexes and ages (Belarusians, Ukrainians, Poles).
9. 2 reports in the media - an article about the concerts in the press and a TV report in the News program about one of the concerts. This resulted in more people coming to the concerts. Poles learned about us and our mission.
