Description

The project was developed in response to the diagnosed needs of residents of the districts of Jeżyce and Lazarus in the City of Poznan. The increasing number of residents in these districts and the predominance of middle-class people have led to increasing social contrasts. Our research has shown that the community needs ''backyard events'', a budget for neighbourhood events and investments aimed at developing the neighbourhoods. Therefore, in this project, we planned activities to increase the knowledge of the residents about volunteering, public participation and establishing partnerships. Our aim is bottom-up animation and social activation of people with leadership potential. As part of the project, we run 3 cycles of workshops (each consisting of 4 two-hour meetings) for 60 people. We are carrying out 7 local initiatives involving volunteers. In addition, we are organising meetings on public participation for 100 people as well as an open-air summary of the project. The project''s beneficiaries are the residents of the districts of Jeżyce and Lazarus in the City of Poznan. They are satisfied with their place of residence, but recognise the potential of the neighbourhoods and are willing to participate in integration and development activities. They also want to co-determine the changes taking place in their communities, increase the attractiveness of the common space and build social capital. Approximately 300 people are involved in the project.
