Summary of project results

In previous years, there was no Prevention and Counteracting Behavioral Addictions Program in the Commune and individual actions were not effective enough. This results from the systemic assumptions underlying work with addictions in the Commune (e.g. fragmented interactions, insufficient resources, lack of overall coordination of actions, substantive assumptions regarding the directions and methods of preventive work do not take into account behavioral addictions, but only addictions to substances: alcohol, drugs), however, at the local level it was possible to develop a program adapted to the needs of the local community. The Communal Prevention and Solving Alcohol Problems and Counteracting Drug Addiction Program for the Commune of Skawina did not take into account the specificity of work and support in the area of addictions. The diagnosis was based mainly on data on alcohol consumption and on the provision of assistance to families with alcohol, drug and domestic violence problems by MGOPS in Skawina.

The project "In the net of support" aimed to increase the effectiveness of prevention of behavioral addictions among young people in the Skawina Commune. This goal was achieved by developing preventive tools, improving the competences of professionals and implementing new solutions in local policy. As part of the project: - An information and promotion campaign was carried out, which was seen by over 21 thousand people - A prevention program was developed, including e-sports championships such as Mission Possible and Rising Players - A pilot program was implemented among 10 teams, ending with e-sports championships - Assumptions for e-training staff were developed in cooperation with the Institute of Cognitive Science and Ben Furman The project also included: public consultations, a social campaign with the participation of young people, the development and dissemination of the "Gamer''s Guide" and the "Gamer''s Parent''s Guide". Developed: -Educational and Preventive Program for E-Trainers (14 participants, 60 hours) -Preventive Program for E-Sports Championships (82 participants) -Project for e-trainers and e-streetworkers -Project of recommendations for the Municipal Prevention Program -18 films as part of the social campaign -"Gamer''s Guide" and "Gamer''s Parent''s Guide" -Project promoting film

The results of our project activities include: 1. Strengthening the Competencies of E-Trainers: With the support of a 60-hour training, we managed to strengthen the competences of e-trainers, enabling them to conduct effective preventive activities. By providing specialist knowledge and skills in the area of behavioral and psychosocial addictions, trainers are now better prepared to work with young people and support their healthy development. 2. Increasing Social Awareness: One of the main goals of the project was to increase social awareness of behavioral addictions. Our information activities, workshops and educational materials aimed to reach the community with information about the threats and effects of behavioral addictions. The skills and competences of the staff acquired during the project also pay off during other projects, e.g. the profile of predispositions to addictions has become a permanent element of the School for Parents. 3. Increasing the skills to safely use computer games among young people The most important result of the project is increasing the skills to safely use computer games among young people. This result was verified during the gaming night, both tests (physiotherapeutic and preventive) were conducted, as well as observations during the gaming weekend. Additionally, at the end of the project, additional surveys were conducted to verify this result. Benefits and Effects: Thanks to our activities, the community has gained greater access to specialist knowledge and practical tools that allow for the identification, recognition and prevention of behavioral addictions. E-sports coaches have become key figures in the process of education and prevention among young people, which can contribute to reducing the risk of addiction-related problems.
