Description

This project responds to the problem of low social activity of older people and young people in the Dzierzążnia Municipality, especially in the area of environmental protection. During the 20 months of our activities, we are increasing the awareness and environmental activation of the local population. Our goal is to shape local policies on environmental protection by engaging the local community (especially young and older people) in activities to care for the environment in the municipality. As part of the existing Volunteer Club, environmental workshops and lectures are held, with about 280 participants. We organise hiking rallies combined with cleaning up local forests. We are creating a community educational garden with a gazebo and ecological installations. The garden will serve as a space for ecological education and integration of the residents. The area for the construction of the garden was provided by the project partner, the John Paul II Primary School in Dzierzążnia. Our partner is also the Płońsk Forest Inspectorate, which is responsible, among other things, for holding lectures on littering in the surrounding forests. The project will contribute to raising environmental awareness and the responsibility of residents for climate change. We will encourage people to take specific pro-environmental actions and make them aware of the impact of their everyday choices on the life of the community and the state of the planet.

Summary of project results

Project titled "For people and nature - through education to action" concerned the problem of low social activity of seniors and young people, raising awareness and ecological activation of residents of the Dzierzążnia commune in the Masovian Voivodeship during the 20 months of the project. Moreover, there was no space on the school grounds in Dzierzążnia to observe nature and conduct ecological education. Therefore, there was a need to build a community teaching garden near the school. The long-term goal of the project was to shape local policies regarding environmental protection by involving the local community (especially young people and seniors - a total of 391 people took part in the project) in activities to care for the environment in the Dzierzążnia commune.

The completed project is the first initiative in the Dzierzążnia commune that, on such a large scale, involved the public in educational activities aimed at raising ecological awareness and disseminating knowledge in the field of environmental protection. As part of the project, training for volunteers was conducted, numerous ecological workshops and lectures, and rallies were held. hiking combined with cleaning local forests, educational and nature trips, a social educational garden with a gazebo and ecological installations was created, which is a space for ecological education and integration of the inhabitants of the Dzierzążnia commune. Project activities contributed to increasing ecological awareness, stimulated responsibility for climate change, took specific pro-ecological actions, integrated and activated the local community. They realized the importance of everyday choices for shaping the common good of the community and the planet.

The knowledge about volunteering and ecology acquired during training and workshops is a lasting effect of the project. Another lasting effect of the project is the construction of a social teaching garden with a gazebo and equipment that will be taken care of by the Grantee after the completion of the activities, as well as ecological education kits purchased as part of the project, which serve students of the School in Dzierzążnia and the local community of the Dzierzążnia commune. Organizing festivals and hiking rallies combined with forest cleaning will become a permanent part of the calendar of events organized by the Grantee. As a result of the project implementation, the inhabitants of Dzierzążnia, village, benefited the most
including children and school youth belonging to the school district in Dzierzążnia and seniors who gained a place to relax, integrate and organize ecological family picnics, a space that was missing for the local community.
As part of institutional development, the organization''s working conditions were improved. Training was organized for members of the organization, conducted by experts in the field of fundraising and building partnerships. Moreover, completing the Fundraiser course and then employing this person as a Fundraiser contributed to the stability and independence of the organization from subsidies after the end of institutional support. Thanks to financial support for equipment and modernization of the premises, the conditions for running a business have improved
statutory organization, which will contribute to the significant development of the organization.
