Description

The aim of the project is to support the political emancipation of women as well as to promote and strengthen their voice. We would like women to represent 50% of both houses of the Polish Parliament, not just the current 26.5%. To govern in 50% of Polish municipalities, not just in the current 12%. To represent 50% of the European Parliament, not just the current 36.4%. We want more women to be present in politics, and their voices to be better heard. As part of the project, we will arrange meeting places for female candidates in the forthcoming parliamentary elections to meet with those electing their representatives. We will create a meeting place for women who are actively pursuing political careers, as well as girls and women who intend to become socially and politically active. They will be representatives of different political environments, representing different views. We will launch the ‘The Electoral Compass’ platform, which will allow people running for election to register their political profiles, and voters to get to know male and female candidates better. Using the platform, citizens will also check what views male candidates have on the issue of women''s rights. We will hold a series of debates with women representative on the topics: ‘Defence’, ‘Digital Security’, ‘Feminist Economics’, ‘Climate Roulette’, as well as workshops with female experts on the topics: ‘Politics from behind a computer screen’, ‘Become a councillor’. We will create a discussion group ‘Networking: Women in Politics’. We believe that the issue of equal and diverse representation in politics is important for everyone, not just women. We all lose out when the perspective of half the population is insufficiently represented.

Summary of project results

The topic covered by the Networking project "Women in Politics" has existed and affected half of the population for hundreds and thousands of years. More than 100 years ago, women in Poland achieved the first, basic degree of political emancipation. However, inequality is still the norm. Political, economic and social systems perpetuate this “norm”.

We need more women representatives of our rights, in politics, in authorities, in leading positions, in parliaments and local governments, in masculinized professions; more attention to women''s perspective.

The topic is present everywhere there are women. And not only women. Equal opportunities for men and women apply to everyone. This applies to all aspects of life, including equal pay. This is an essential foundation for a healthier future.

Life proves that each of the activities such as the Networking project "Women in Politics" is conducive to achieving step by step values, i.e.: improving the political emancipation of the voice of this still "second" gender in politics - women; getting more women into politics; strengthening women''s cooperation in politics/local government across political differences, integration in specific program areas; promoting parity; rights and standards of democracy, emancipation and equality; strengthening the popularity and programs of political representatives.

The following modules were implemented as part of the "Networking "Women in Politics" project:

The Busola Wyborcza portal was created, encouraging women to vote and CONNECTING CANDIDATES WITH THE ELECTORATE.

A series of 9 workshops was carried out: "How to win debates in the election campaign?" (lectures and practical simulations of debates with journalists or residents of a given district, training of opening and closing positions and immediate, individual feedback), We received very enthusiastic opinions and many questions about the continuation of this type of workshops.

Another important program point was a series of 4 expert debates: "Climate roulette", "Security", "Economics and Emancipation", "Cybersecurity and cybercrime".

Audio-visual materials from these events are available on social media and on our YouTube channel.

We carried out 5 intensive social campaigns: in addition to 4 debates, also a campaign for the Busola Wyborcza portal.

The already established ''Networking Women in Politics'' discussion group is active.

The implementation of the project was accompanied by shares informing about activities and educational - on the foundation''s fanpages on Facebook, Instagram, discussion group, and subpages of the project on the blog (in the form of posts, entries, reels, reports, as well as re-shares by our recipients).

We undertook various forms of subsequent communication activities to strengthen the project events.

The noticeable successes of these implementations include: dozens of positive recommendations and enthusiastic opinions about workshops and debates, as well as suggestions to continue their idea in the future. Declarations from parties and candidates that they will strengthen us after the announcement of the electoral lists in the promotion of the Busola Wyborcza portal - especially among women candidates. Establishing alliances and partnerships for further missionary activities.

1/. We managed to organize inclusive, unifying debates, across political divisions, presenting the profiles of high-class women experts in fields dominated by men.

2/. The participants of the "How to win debates in the election campaign?" workshops emphasized in the evaluation survey that they felt empowered and very interested in continuing the training.

3/. Obtaining answers on the Busola Wyborcza website from politicians from almost the entire spectrum of the Polish political scene - to a survey regarding their political programs and views.

4/. Establishing the beginnings of closer cooperation with several organizations that declare support for our activities.

5/. Among the contacts established, I would also like to distinguish the foundation''s invitation to cooperate and organize events in a physical space, in a local environment, in one of the provincial cities - the organization has so far been conducting online activism, as it only has a virtual office address - due to the need to reduce expenses.

6/. Increased recognition and visibility of our foundation''s activities, greater understanding of our mission.

7/. The Women in Politics discussion group includes politicians from various political options.

8/. Acquiring new team members who are important for the further development of the organization - strengthening the structures.

9/. We managed to gain several Ambassadors for the foundation and our collection planned for April 18. Preparatory work to announce the collection is ongoing.

10/. There are prospects of co-financing our upcoming activities: supporting women in electoral campaigns. It seems that the sense and purpose of such activities was noticed by one of the large organizations granting donations. A representative of this organization, present at one of our workshops, declared that a call for applications regarding this specific area would soon be announced (previously, the entire pool of funds allocated by this organization went to supporting the fight against more urgent problems for women - as explained to us over the last 3 years ).

11/. Our slogans and slogans from the Busola Wyborcza website aroused enthusiasm, positive reactions and support - especially in leftist circles (the independent Left Conference "Women for the Elections!").
