Description

In this project we deal with cultural, ecological and civic education of the Bronowice district residents in the city of Lublin. We want to develop the interests of the residents, increase their engagement in the life of the local community, as well as build positive habits and develop a sense of empowerment. The Culture Point is a place of integration - a "base" where the residents meet, take part in workshops and together with animators and artists organize cultural and social activities in the Bronowice district. Our strategic goal is to provide funding for the maintenance of the place for work with the local community, to maintain the continuity of activities in the Bronowice district and to provide support for residents after the Active Citizens - Regional programme ends. Using our experience in working with the local community, we want to extend our activities to psychological, pedagogical and educational support. In our work we focus on cooperation with residents, so the project responds to the needs of residents of different ages: children, young people, adults, seniors. We will carry out thematic activities that will allow residents to acquire or develop new skills. We will organise outdoor events, publish a local bulletin, and develop music, film and photo materials. Our partner in the project is the T.E.A.M. Foundation "Teatrikon".

Summary of project results

The project aimed to maintain the existing activities of the Culture Point based on the dissemination of culture in an environment at risk of exclusion. The Culture Point is located in the Stare Bronowice district in Lublin. The main assumption of the activity was cooperation with the local community, which resulted in the implementation of a program of workshops at the Culture Point, providing psychological and pedagogical support for participants and the implementation of outdoor events that culturally enrich and integrate the local community. The task was addressed to young people aged 11-18 from the Stare Bronowice district in Lublin and their families.

Our main principle is cooperation with residents, which is why the offer was tailored to the specific requirements of residents of different ages: children, teenagers, adults, seniors.

The aim of the project was cultural, ecological and civic education, social prevention, developing interest, building positive habits of spending free time, increasing involvement in the life of the local environment and shaping the sense of agency among the district''s residents. The activities were aimed at counteracting harmful stereotypes and preventing domestic violence by educating parents in developing positive parenting attitudes.

As part of the programmed activities, the following were achieved:
- 468 hours of workshops: artistic classes (art, rap, dancehall, photography), multimedia and digital (photo processing, use of VR technology, graphic design, editing of reels and videos), ethical and moral classes (principles of savoir-vivre, ethics, good upbringing )
- 227 hours of pedagogical and psychological support for course participants and their families
- 4 outdoor events: 2 x Battle of Stare Bronowice and 2 x Festival of All Residents
- 4 issues of the district newspaper "Dzielnicówka" with a total circulation of 2,000 pieces.
The most important effects of the activities are the skills acquired by the participants during thematic classes, which were also presented during outdoor events - the Battle of Stare Bronowice and the All Residents Festival.

Thanks to the implementation of the project, the Point Kultury team and collaborators of the Good Ideas Foundation had the opportunity to take advantage of training that developed key competencies for further development:
- building a communication strategy
- network security and document administration
- building the financial model of the organization
As a result of the training, we are developing our communication channels of the Punkt Kultury profile. The Foundation began to use new forms of support - crowdfunding or donations, and the financial resources to maintain further activities of the Culture Point are supported by the Lublin Commune until 2025.

Additionally, we benefited from 30 hours of supervision and consultation on the educational and pedagogical work of the team directly involved in working with people at risk of exclusion.

As part of the project, we managed to carry out three study trips to places with a similar activity profile to the Culture Point:
- GPAS PRAGA – Group of Pedagogy and Social Animation Prague - Północ
- Piraeus Cultural Incubator
- Streetworking Ełk group

The implementation of the project significantly contributed to eliminating barriers in access to cultural goods, increasing acceptance, responsibility, social awareness and sense of agency among participants, and also initiated lasting cooperation with key partner organizations, which supports the further development of the foundation''s activities. Below we present the results achieved in the project:

- eliminating barriers in access to cultural goods - at least 80 participants will take part in 200 hours of program activities
- increased acceptance and tolerance among at least 60 participants - qualitative research - interview - evaluation; - increase in over 60 participants
- increased responsibility for shaping their environment among at least 50 participants - qualitative research - interview - evaluation; - increase in over 50 participants
- increased awareness, openness and empathy towards social problems in at least 70 participants - qualitative research - interview - evaluation; - increase in over 70 participants
- increased sense of agency and importance in at least 60 participants - qualitative study - interview - evaluation; - increase in over 60 participants
- partnership cooperation with 1 organization - partnership agreement;
- informal cooperation with min. 3 organizations/institutions - cooperation agreement

What is important is the durability of the results, which we understand as further cooperation with partner organizations that are key to the development of activities carried out by the Foundation.

Additionally, the durability of the results means further work with the group of participants taking part in the project. Each "soft" change must be nurtured to make these changes last. We deeply believe that by maintaining the durability of the project - the program of activities and the system developed over the years, we are able to effectively contribute to maintaining and increasing the resources and competences of the project participants.
