Description

The aim of this project is to develop a new product - an innovative construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform. By using a digital solution for processing construction waste removal container orders, it is possible to improve the logistics of construction waste containers, incl. reducing air pollution. The use of the platform developed by LLC “Zolt” will bring significant benefits to the customers of construction waste removal containers and waste transport service providers, as well as will provide a positive impact on the environment.

The main activities of the project are the development of a new product prototype (system), incl. the necessary outsourcing, and the transfer of knowledge from the Norwegian partner for the further introduction and commercialization of the new product.

Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to develop an innovative construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform system. By using such a digital solution for processing construction waste removal container orders, it is possible to improve the logistics of construction waste containers, incl. reducing air pollution. Through a single system, it would be possible for companies to pass on information to the drivers, as well as to keep records of containers. SIA “Zolt” developed construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform system which would provide support in construction waste management. To ensure efficient order processing, the platform has an electronic order queue with exact addresses, prices and customer details. To improve logistics, the system has synchronized with mobile application drivers with a daily plan and precise routes. Successful tracking and control of containers is provided with GPS coordinates on the map, allowing to understand their location in nature and will allow more efficient planning of daily activities and processes of container managers.

Using the platform developed by SIA “Zolt” will bring significant benefits to the customers of construction waste removal containers and export service providers, as well as positively impact the environment. Customers will receive a high-quality construction waste container rental service, which will include faster delivery and removal, and a transparent pricing policy (container rental and removal calculation is based on the exact coordinates specified by the customer). The improvement of the environment will also be ensured by, among other things, keeping records of exported materials.

The project''s main activities were the development of a new product prototype (system), incl. the necessary outsourcing and the transfer of knowledge from the Norwegian partner for the further introduction and commercialization of the new product.

All the planned project results have been met:

  • an innovative construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform system has been developed. The system has been built and a software model has been developed. Analytics has been performed to evaluate the technological aspects for the full development of the prototype and their further approbation and testing in alpha and beta versions. A TRL level of the protype reached the seventh level, where the system has been completed and tested, incl. it has been proven that the developed technology works or differs only minimally from the planned system;
  • Consultations and testing of a new product in cooperation with a Norwegian partner and Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies have been carried out;

Special publicity measures through the implementation of the project have been carried out. The experimental development and testing of the concept has been completed for the product. Analytics were also performed to evaluate the technological aspects for the full development of the prototype and their further approbation and testing in alpha and beta versions. The system has been completed and tested, incl. it has been proven that the developed technology works or differs only minimally from the planned system.

Summary of bilateral results

A partnership agreement between Ltd ZOLT and “Carling Bygg” AS has been concluded and executed. The knowledge transfer activities in cooperation with the Norwegian partner were actively carried out in December 2023, when the feasibility of the new system''s innovative construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform in accordance with the building regulations in force in Norway was carried out. In addition, the knowledge and understanding of the construction waste removal service system in Norway, including Norwegian national legislation on construction waste disposal, has been shared. On top of that, the knowledge and understanding needed to customize the new system, innovative construction waste removal service processing, and logistics management platform for the Norwegian construction industry have been gained, and the necessary changes have been introduced in the platform.Although the results are not shared, the collaboration produced a better version of the system prototype developed during the project''s implementation.It has to be mentioned that knowledge transfer activities in cooperation with the Norwegian partner were actively carried out in December 2023, when the feasibility of the new system''s innovative construction waste removal service processing and logistics management platform in accordance with the building regulations in force in Norway was carried out. In addition, the knowledge and understanding of the construction waste removal service system in Norway, including Norwegian national legislation on construction waste disposal, has been shared. On top of that, the knowledge and understanding needed to customize the new system, innovative construction waste removal service processing, and logistics management platform for the Norwegian construction industry have been gained, and the necessary changes have been introduced in the platform.
