Description

The project aims to develop and implement new technological solutions for the production of photovoltaic modules (PV) based on the implementation of the principles of the circular economy, reduction of energy consumption and CO2 footprint. Implementation of this project will increase the company''s competitiveness through the increased nomenclature of high-quality manufactured integrated photovoltaic (IPV) products, increased production capacity, and their presentation to the worldwide market.

In order to ensure manufacturing of competitive products in the rapidly growing PV market, during this project the Applicant will purchase equipment that will allow to expand the range of currently produced products (mostly glass-plastic PV modules), supplementing it with the technology of glass-glass products, mostly used in building facades, roofs, balconies (BIPV), greenhouses (AgroPV), etc. Evaluating the composition of raw materials or BOM, glass-glass PV modules compared to glass-plastic modules have higher durability (lifetime 5-10 years longer), slower degradation (residual power at the end of the operational period is about 7% higher - 87% vs 80%), easier recyclability, with up to 12% lower CO2 emissions. In addition, this modernization will make it possible to significantly (>20%) reduce the energy demand needed to produce the same amount of nominal power production (kWh/MW) compared to the current equipment and technology.

Partner’s experience performing technological and marketing consultations is expected to contribute to successful implementation of planned project tasks and ensure further mutually beneficial long-term sustainable cooperation.

Summary of project results
