Description

The main goal of this project is to increase and improve the availability and quality of health care services. It is planned to repair health offices adapting them to activities and to acquire methodological measures that would be suitable for the improvement and prevention of the mental health of children and youth.

The project aim also is to make the premises of health offices attractive to consumers through simple repairs. The health offices will be renovated, fully adapted to the functions of specialists, visually attractive and functional. Currently, there are 11 health offices in Švenčionys district. Most of them are in good condition, but a few of them are in extremely poor condition. In 5 health offices in pre-school and school education institutions will be made simple repair and it is planned to provide all health offices with methodological tools.

The project is expected to significantly increase the value and importance of health classes in pre-school and school life, increase children’s interest in inclusive activities through innovative games and unusual methods.

Summary of project results

The project was targeted at school and pre-school specialists and the children and young people who attend them.

It was planned that the implementation of this project will significantly increase the value and importance of health offices in pre-school and school life, increase children''s interest in inclusive activities through innovative games and unusual methods. The implementation of this project will create suitable conditions for health care professionals to work in health care offices, improve the availability of health care services in Švenčionys district educational institutions, increase the number of health care recipients, which will add value in the long run: creating a healthy environment in these institutions, municipalities and the physical and mental health of young people, parents, teachers.

The project renovated and visually and functionally adapted three health rooms in Švenčionys district educational institutions. In total, ten health rooms in the district were equipped with methodological and creative tools (books, table and activity games, puzzles, etc.). Interactive screens and floors were installed, as well as equipment to promote relaxation and creativity (sensory bubble wall, functional light tables, light frames). The health rooms were also equipped with the necessary furniture, computer equipment and tools (CO2 meter, scales with height meter, etc.).

The project was implemented by Švenčionys district municipality and increased and improved the availability and quality of health offices services, thus contributing to the health of children and young people.

he project has made health rooms more relevant in the lives of this target group. This was due to the inclusive activities implemented, such as innovative games or unusual methods. The project has paid particular attention to children and young people experiencing social exclusion, encouraging them to become more self-confident. Health care professionals were provided with appropriate conditions and access to health care services in educational institutions in Švenčionys district has significantly improved.
