Applicant: Association for promotion of social innovation, founded in 2011.

Project: The project provides business support and increases circularity potential of the existing micro businesses focused on sustainable innovation in Croatia, contributing to increasing their resilience and competitiveness; it additionally expands the knowledge on circularity principles througout the network of public entrepreneurship support institutions strengthening their role in supporting the circular design of the micro businesses and their role as circular economy knowledge hubs on the topic of circular economy. 10 microcompanies (preferably female run in rural areas) will receive individualized support in circular economy and sustainable business through 1 to 1 mentorship and workshops.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to provide business support to the participants increasing their resilience and competitiveness with the main objectives to help them identify the main barriers and opportunities to grow, expand their professional business contacts and have access to adequate support at the right time so they take better business decisions. An added value was to contribute to participants'' wellbeing as a precondition to build personal resilience.

The project truly and deeply supported 8 micro business owners by successfully delivering 4 modules: individual assessment of their challenges (at least 5 hours per participant), Business acceleration with mentoring on short term development goals for identification of opportunities and actions (at least 10 hrs per participant), face to face meet ups (5x) with 18 different experts supporting and a 3 day retreat that to allow entrepreneurs time to explore and connect with their inner drivers of entrepreneurship.

The project increased the competitiveness of 8 micro-enterprises, by exposing them to tailor made mentoring and expert support and to international scrutiny and exposure (with the partner in Norway), they generated new relevant business contacts, increased their wellbeing (by attending a specially designed retreat and the curated meetups) and ultimately their business knowledge that helped the, advance to their next professional business level.

Summary of bilateral results

Promoter states the communication and collaboration with the Norwegian partner (Impact Hub Agder) was successful and was instrumental to the participants for broadening their understanding of the Norwegian market and expanding their professional network of contacts.
