Programme:

Description

The project will strengthen democratic culture, civic awareness and civic engagement with an emphasis on activities moderate to children and the elderly as vulnerable groups. It is aimed at cooperation with kindergartens and associations in the area of the City of Pleternica, which complement each other and are necessary for achieving project goals. The project also includes children from suburban areas who are wanted to be provided with the same rights to accessible education. The program will promote the mobilization and engagement of citizens as an expected result, by involving volunteers, implementing volunteer education and volunteer actions. Systematic support will be provided to vulnerable groups who will be empowered by introducing new and / or improved working methods to address their needs. During the project, the inclusion of 3 CSOs and kindergartens as educational institutions will support civil and human rights education. Pleternica is a developing community that lacks year-round facilities that would enrich social life, and the project aims to build civil society into a strong community. The competencies that children acquire as children will make them active and responsible members of the social community and enable them to effectively perform their civic role in their growing up. The project represents a turning point in the local community that will enable a quality transition from a traditional environment to a democratic and modern community with an understanding of citizens'' rights. By implementing activities through innovative approaches, the content will be publicly promoted in an interesting and humorous way with videos and a public campaign. Public authorities will be involved in the whole project in order to react to the identified problems. The project will be implemented on the principle of "Act locally, think globally" and we expect that examples of this practice will be followed by other communities, which adds value to this project.

Summary of project results

The target groups are children and the elderly as vulnerable populations. Approximately 200 children from kindergartens and playrooms in the area of the City of Pleternica  aged between 3 and 7 years will directly participate in project activities, as well as about 20 elderly individuals. The general issue for children is that they are insufficiently aware of their human and civil rights at their age, particularly affecting those children from rural areas. By participating in this project/program, children will be equipped to respond in situations where their rights or the rights of others are not respected. Participation in these activities will lead to a long-term improvement in the quality of children''s lives, as this age is when they learn the most, build foundations that they will continue to build upon throughout their lives, and create lasting memories.

By implementing activities through innovative approaches, content will be publicly promoted in an interesting and humorous manner through video clips and a public campaign. The project will be carried out based on the principle of "Act locally, think globally,"

One campaign was conducted featuring 6 educational video clips. Additionally, 10 educational sessions about children''s and civil rights were held for 200 children in preschools. There were 5 puppet shows and 1 quiz about children''s civil rights organized as part of the project activities.

The collective awareness of the local community  about civil and human rights has been raised. A public campaign has influenced the development of responsible behavior. Children have been shown their rights in an approachable manner. We have involved elderly individuals who, through the project, provided the target groups with a lifelong perspective on the struggle for rights, thus contributing to the development of the collective consciousness of the local community. Through innovative methods of working with children, knowledge about rights has been supplemented, which was the ultimate goal of this project. Through project activities, we have empowered individuals, fostered a sense of solidarity, encouraged participation, and protected vulnerable groups from any form of marginalization. Through collaboration between NGOs and educational institutions, we promoted the acquisition of knowledge about civil and human rights, enhancing the reach and effectiveness of civic education. The target group has gained specific knowledge about civil and children''s rights, encouraging them to reflect on their rights.
