Description
In recent years, market of timber buildings has grown very competitive in Nordic countries and there is a lot of pressure on margins from both customers and raw materials suppliers. The value chain of pre-cut houses is long and complex and actors are highly dependent on each other. Complex value chain and project-based operation means a lot of coordination between actors. Even small errors in communication could mean large delays, inefficiency and waste in the whole process. Currently the coordination is scattered, nobody in the value chain has the complete picture, and more often than not important pieces of information will not reach all relevant actors.
To address described issues Nordic Houses wants to implement integrated digital platform, which would incorporate customer relationship management, sales interface, enterprise resource planning, design management, production management and project management capabilities with joint interface for value chain partners. Integration of a comprehensive information system would allow Nordic Houses to transform from product-oriented company to service-oriented company and take charge of the value chain.
The aim of the project is to assess the feasibility of the project idea, validate the business case and to prepare for the development project by defining the scope of further development activities. Strong focus of the project is on partner search, with whom to participate in the main call competition.
