Description

The Pilsen Region is starting a cooperation with the Liechtenstein Department of Education. The aim of the project is to gain inspiration for creating ideal conditions in education leading to effective use of modern ICT technologies in teaching. The meeting of experts from both institutions will provide an opportunity to discuss an effective way of education, the standard of school equipment and to share examples of good practice. These joint activities will expand the range of educational activities which will increase the quality of education in the region.
Based on the newly acquired information, changes in methodological recommendations for school principals will be considered in both partner regions at the end of the project. The aim is to identify such educational activities that stimulate maximum development and full use of the potential of all pupils, especially those that lead to enhacement of digital literacy and critical thinking. After the end of the project, the obtained information will be presented to school principals who will be provided with methodological support in the implementation of new teaching methods, e.g. in the form of teacher education.

Summary of project results

The Pilsen Region strives to ensure, that the use of digital technologies in schools is effective and that there is an effective development of pupils'' digital competencies. The Pilsen Region implements activities that support teachers in introducing digital technologies into teaching. The project of the Pilsen Region and the Liechtenstein Department of Education called Digitization in education in the Pilsen region and Liechtenstein is in line with the strategic goals of the region. The meeting of experts from both institutions provided an opportunity to discuss the effective method of education, the standard of school equipment and to share examples of good practice. It was inspiring to observe and learn about how others work and approach similar topics and challenges that we ourselves experience within education.
Thanks to the project, twelve education experts from both institutions improved their knowledge and skills in the field of digital literacy development of schoolchildren in the region and acquired new competences, which they will apply in the methodological support of established schools, thereby increasing the quality of their work. The project also has an impact on pedagogues and pupils of the established schools, as the knowledge gained and examples of good practice will be used in fulfilling the strategic goals of both regions.

Summary of bilateral results

It has been beneficial to observe and have professional discussions about the specific topics in the project, and discussions about education in general. The participants of the project from Liechtenstein were highly motivated to learn as much information as possible about education in the Plzeň region and the way digital technologies are used in teaching. The effort of the project partner was to present a maximum of activities using digital technologies in teaching in the short time of the visit to Liechtenstein. Intensive communication between the two partners made it possible to understand in detail the difficulties in introducing digital technologies, but also their indisputable advantages for teachers and pupils. The Pilsen Region offered to the partner the continuation of cooperation in the form of the involvement of Liechtenstein schools in international technical competitions organized by the Pilsen Region.
