Description

Forest kindergartens are mostly NGOs and like others face the arbitrariness and incompetence of some authorities.State level: the adopted laws reduce the scope for their beneficial public activities.Regional level:they face unequal approach by regional institutions, that administratively impede establishment of FK and the operation of existing ones is complicated.Children thus have unequal opportunities to access FK.The aim of the project is to unify the legislative and administrative requirements for establishment and operation of NGOs running FK and preserve this innovative form of education

Summary of project results

Project had addressed a lack of legislative support for an innovative form of preschool education called forest kindergartens and unequal treatment of NGO''s who run these schools by regulators on local level.

Project delivered several legislative changes in construction law, school law and within school catering regulations. We supported forest kindergartens in communication with local authorities.

The aim of the project was to unify the legislative and administrative requirements for NGOs who are running forest kindergartens  and to preserve this innovative form of education. We can declare, we have reached our main goal. Forest kindergartens as institutions of civil society were enforced, these innovative schools can continue and educate new generations of children. Children thus have more equal opportunities to access forrest kindergartens.

Project enforced 149 NGOs and engaged them to build civil society. We had changed 3 laws and regulations to enable further  development of forest kindergartens. We have consolidated our position within civil society networks and in cooperation with these networks we influenced Strategic educational documents on a national level toward education of sustainable development and education in the natural environment.
