Description

The main objective of the project is to identify groups of vulnerable persons in society which are potentially facing social exclusion, focusing mainly on younger age groups, and collect data necessary to investigate and evaluate their rights and needs in order to enable their social inclusion and equality. More specifically, the project comprises of actions such as field research, applied drama workshops based on an investigative and training approach, theatrical shows and actions and presentations of quantitative analysis and statistical measurements artefacts. The goal of the aforementioned plan of action is to give a platform to members of these vulnerable groups through which their inclusion and equality can be promoted and showcased as a feature of an inclusive society which does not discriminate against diversity. Also, through the project, a novel approach regarding the elimination of such exclusions will be created coupled with a process for gradual societal inclusion of these people and groups. Additionally, the project scope also includes parts which focus on combating and eliminating discriminations, proposing a new method to approach individuals and organized groups which are actively involved in similar initiatives and projects and provide them with the information and training necessary (new method) in order to activate them and include them in the project''s cause to strengthen it''s reach. The project aims to bring together 40 vulnerable persons coming from different vulnerable groups and 10 Organisations/CSO’s in Paphos. This project is unique in it''s kind as the approach taken in tackling this social exclusion issue differs drastically in the viewpoint of the observers undertaking this initiative, which is based on using applied drama techniques as a means of social interjection and social education.
