Description

Hiteck Ltd. operates as a small enterprise nestled in the picturesque Rhodopi mountains of South Central Bulgaria.

The primary objective of this project is to enhance the competitiveness of Hiteck Ltd., thereby increasing its turnover and net operational profit. This undertaking involves the application of cutting-edge green technologies and processes designed to promote recycling and the reuse of waste raw materials. The rationale for this investment encompasses multiple facets: i) the efficient utilization of waste raw materials; ii) the enhancement of production quality; iii) diversification of the company''s product range; iv) the implementation of eco-friendly technologies at the company level; and v) the improvement of environmental sustainability and working conditions.

Investing in a new production line for processing larger wooden components and acquiring additional machinery for managing wood waste will enable a self-sustaining material cycle within the company. The outcomes of this project will empower Hiteck Ltd. to meet the burgeoning market demand for wood pellets and eco-friendly wooden products. Moreover, the project will foster the adoption of innovative sustainable technologies and contribute to reducing CO2 emissions. By implementing this project, production capacity is anticipated to increase by a minimum of 15%, enabling the company to capture up to 3% of the local market.

This new project component is driven by the imperative to enhance production efficiency by minimizing waste and preserving the economic value of products, materials, and resources. By channeling investment into the project, the company can harness its waste materials for increased capacity and introduce fresh products to the market. This strategic approach not only augments the competitiveness of Hiteck Ltd. but also aligns with sustainable practices to safeguard the environment.

Summary of project results

Haiteck ltd. had the need of technical solution for the implementation of machines with larger capacity and better energy efficiency in order to increase the production capacity of the wood processing workshop. The investment was needed to process wood in larger quantities thus to  allow the company to offer new products to its customers such as beams, planks and blanks for euro pallets – these are disassembled pallets stacked tight using less space for transportation, as well as ready euro pallets assembled on site to be transported in shorter distance.

The company has invested in a new equipment. The new machinery allowed the replacement of the current operative production line in the wood processing workshop thus  enhancing the production capacity of the company. The company  has also invested in a new technology for wood waste management – it has contributed to increase the value of the wood waste by creating a new biomass fuel product that partially will be used in the production facility of Haiteck ltd. and the rest will be sold to companies that use solid fuels burners in their production processes. Larger wood particles are mixed with sawdust and filled in big bags to be used as solid fuel for industrial use burners. The project results allowed  the use of wood waste from their own industrial production.

Economic impact

The project results are expected to lead to an important increase of the company''s revenues. In addition, the wood processing activities will bring a35 000 EUR worth of raw material free of cost for the company in year one, and increasing up to 200 000 EUR in worth, coming from the usage of wood waste as raw material for pellets production.

Social impact

The new green equipment provides better and safer working environment for the employees. The company hired  8 new employees.

Green Impact

The company will be able to process amounts starting from 2000 cubic meters of wood waste, invested as raw material in the pellets and eco briquettes production line, as well as the solid wood industrial fuel. The production process has improved its energy efficiency and have  resulted  in cost optimization and save in CO2 emissions, generated from saved energy. The project will create an important value for the company.
