The project aims to improve access to arts and culture of ethnic and cultural minorities (Roma focus) and to meet the needs of children and young people from Family-type accommodation centres by including them in a cultural and educational initiative for dance art and an innovative approach for present and promote an ethnocultural event with the participation of various specialists and artists, young artists, children, and youth (with a focus on Roma). The project includes educational courses in dance art, preparation of a dance performance of "Dance with me", conducting the master classes "The Magic of Dance" and "Shared Dance Space" under the guidance of prominent artists from Bulgaria and Iceland, building an internet cultural and educational platform with video lessons in dance art and the organization of traveling events - Tour "Dance with me" with a flash mob in three small towns in three administrative districts. The events through synthesis of arts will be presented in the classical and innovative forms of dance, music, and stage art, and through 3D mapping will be experimented with new presentation spaces.
Summary of project results
The project was aimed at improving access to arts and culture for ethnic and cultural minorities (focus on Roma) and meeting the needs of children and youth from family-type accommodation centers by involving them in a cultural and educational initiative for dance art. The initiative included an innovative approach to presenting and promoting an ethno-cultural event with the participation of various professionals and artists, young artists, children and youth, with focus on Roma.
The project included educational courses on dance art, the creation of a dance performance "Dance with me", holding masterclasses entitled "The Magic of Dance" and "Shared Dance Space" under the guidance of prominent artists from Bulgaria and Iceland, as well as the creation of an international cultural and educational platform with video lessons on dance art and the organization of travelling events - "Dance with Me" Tour with flashmob in three small towns on the territory of three administrative Bulgarian districts. The aims was to present in traditional and innovative forms the dance, music and performing arts, and through 3D mapping to experiment with new presentation spaces.
Educational dance courses were held within the project''s implementation, as well as a dance performance with 3D mapping and Flashmob called "Dance with me" was set up. The promoter also held masterclasses under the names of "The Magic of Dance" and "Shared Dance Space". The project involved the intended target groups such as people from different minorities or ethnic groups with a clear focus on Roma - students, youth and others, as well as children and young people from the family type accommodation centres. The children accommodated in these centres are between 8-18 years old. The majority of children and young people accommodated in the centres are of Roma origin, in some places reaching 99% of the groups. Summary of bilateral results
The Icelandic parter contributed mainly in the activity related to the masterclass "Shared Dance Space" and they created sustainable relationship with their Bulgarian colleagues that will continue with future projects.
