The project proposal is developed in accordance with the implemented policies in Haskovo Municipality for improving the conditions and quality of presentation of the rich cultural heritage. The project supports the understanding and acceptance of cultural and artistic diversity within the European cultural heritage. Special focus is placed on ensuring wide public access to cultural content, which on the one hand emphasizes European identity and on the other - promotes cultural diversity. As a result of the implementation of the project activities, exhibition spaces in the cultural institutes will be revitalized in order to adapt to the modern requirements for organizing exhibition expositions and holding cultural events. Exhibitions of local artists, including Roma, will be organized in the city''s art galleries and a museum collection presenting the similarities and differences in the way of life and the way the local population dresses. The expert capacity will be developed in order to promote entrepreneurship in the cultural sphere. The developed website will contribute to expanding the circle of Bulgarian and foreign users who are interested in cultural and historical heritage. In order to attract new audiences and an innovative approach to the presentation of cultural content, a 360-degree walk through the gallery will be developed and adapted to the organization''s website. A fertility fair will be organized at the Otets Paisiy-1925 Community Center in the village of Voyvodovo. The implementation of the project will develop an entrepreneurial plan for the development of entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative sector in order to create and commercialize products and services that have cultural value, but can also be measured economically. The results of the project will be promoted among the target groups, incl. and of Roma origin in order to achieve their better integration into the community.
Summary of project results
Within the project, spaces in cultural institutes in the town of Haskovo will be revitalized in order to adapt them to modern trends for holding exhibitions and cultural events. Exhibitions of local artists, including Roma, will be organized in city art galleries, and a museum collection presenting the similarities and differences in the lifestyle and manner of dressing of the local population will be organized. Expert capacity will be developed in order to encourage entrepreneurship in the cultural sphere. The developed website will contribute to expanding the circle of Bulgarian and foreign users who are interested in cultural and historical heritage. In order to attract new audiences and an innovative approach to the presentation of cultural content, a 360-degree tour of the gallery will be developed and adapted to the organization''s website. A fertility fair will be organized and held in the "Otets Paisiy-1925" community center, village of Voyvodovo. The project will develop an entrepreneurial plan for the development of entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative sector with the aim of creating and bringing to the market products and services that have cultural value, but can also be measured economically.
The main results of the project include the renovation of the Atanas Sharenkov Art Gallery and the revitalization of the library and halls in the Otets Paisii - 1925 National Community Center in the village of Voivodovo, as well as the construction of an exhibition hall for traditional costumes of three ethnic groups - Bulgarians, Turks and Roma. In the implementation of the project activities for the gallery, 360-degree filming of the revitalized exhibition spaces has been implemented, which are presented online for the purpose of easier access to them by the public. Through the new systems for hanging paintings and the newly built art depot, the gallery will present its rich collection of paintings, with a special emphasis on Roma authors who enrich the gallery''s collection. The renovation activities of the premises in the Otets Paisii - 1925 Community Center, the village of Voivodovo, breathed new life into a large hall, a small choir hall, a library and an exhibition hall, and a new museum exhibition was created.
The implementation of the project stimulates creative social change and the application of an entrepreneurial approach in the management and access to cultural heritage on the territory of Haskovo Municipality through the revitalization and renovation of exhibition spaces designed to present and promote cultural values to the general public, giving them new life, energy and attractiveness.
Summary of bilateral results
The project lead to a very successful cooperation and sharing of good practices in the field of cultural heritage presentation between the Bulgarian project promoter and the partner from Iceland. The Icelandic partner organized site visits and meetings with Icelandic cultural operators and representatives of the creative industries, and the possibilities for interaction and inclusion of foreign cultural institutes in further cooperation and joint exhibitions and museum expositions presenting the cultural values of both countries were discussed.
