Description

The state of human rights in Bulgaria has worsened over the last years. At the same time the sector lacks capacity to engage communities as well as good practices for reporting and transparency which could contribute to raising low trust in NGOs. The project aims at boosting the capacity of Fine Arts Foundation and the civil sector in Bulgaria. Through the drafting and dissemination of an Interactive Annual Report, the project will help transparent governance and efficient reporting of the organization before the community and the partners. The project also provides for the drawing up of Guidelines for organizations to draft engaging annual reports and for developing design templates that can be used for free. In addition, the development and implementation of a Strategy for ionvolvement of communities will ensure that information about the work of the foundation is disseminated and that communities are attracted to it; the focus will be on approaches that are not dependent on the restrictions of algorithms of social networks. The end users of the project are civil society organizations (apart from our Foundation) and the general public. The project will help boost the capacity of the whole sector and establish better connection of trust of the Foundation with the general public in the form of greater support for our campaigns and initiatives.

Summary of project results

This project successfully achieved its goals and had a positive impact on its target groups and stakeholders by presenting good practices, disseminating high-quality resources that are free to use by civil society, and demonstrating transparency and effective governance. The project activities significantly increased the management capacity of the organization: a tradition of creating engaging annual reports was set; a comprehensive community-engagement strategy was created (incl. a regular newsletter and a video showreel); valuable and high-quality resources (incl. guidelines for creating engaging annual reports, as well as a package of free design templates) for the civil sector were produced and disseminated in order to increase NGO capacity. The activities carried out within the project and their results are completely new and are an integrated part of the long-term strategy of the Fine Acts Foundation for development and "democratization" of innovative management and creative practices and resources for the NGO sector. All products created within the project are designed to be "re-usable", which guarantees not only their sustainability, but also their potential to be adapted and upgraded – both by the Fine Acts Foundation and other NGOs.
