Description
The initiative aims to strengthen and consolidate the cooperation between ANIMA & Hugarafl, two mental health ngos, with many years of presence in the field of community care. The two organizations will conduct workshops for transfer of knowledge and networking. Also, they will sign a memorandum of cooperation in order to participate in joint actions.
Summary of the results
The initiative strengthened cooperation between ANIMA and Hugarafl through practical knowledge exchange and collaboration. Four members of ANIMA traveled to Iceland, where Hugarafl hosted workshops on recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation, peer support, building community connections, supporting individuals in crisis, the epidemic of psychiatric medication, and the safe reduction of psychiatric medication. Alongside the workshops, informal meetings took place, focusing on the implementation of actions in the Greek context, identifying specific opportunities for collaboration, and establishing follow-up support for ANIMA. As a result of this collaboration, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, outlining plans for joint actions over the next two years, such as activities for World Mental Health Day 2024. The agreement also emphasized a shared philosophy, collaboration on existing programs, and prioritizing support for vulnerable groups, such as youth. To further engage the community, an online podcast was produced, highlighting the organizations'' work and exploring differences between their approaches and countries. In total, 15 people participated in the initiative, including the four ANIMA members who traveled to Iceland.
