Description

The proposed initiative is a collaborative, capacity-building study visit, coordinated by ProNous and supported by Bjerkaker Learning Lab (BLL), aiming to increase civic participation of young people.  The methodology used will focus both on the Nordic recognized learning method and the participatory democracy design approaches.  The initiative will include study tours, expert visits, and case studies in addition to the necessary theory lectures and presentations that will establish the learning cycle.

Summary of the results

The bilateral initiative, coordinated by ProNous and supported by the Bjerkaker Learning Lab (BLL), aimed at exchanging good practices for capacity building in the areas of social participation and youth citizen activation. BLL, leveraging its extensive network in Oslo''s non-profit and federation sector, coordinated the study visit in Oslo, facilitating valuable meetings on community and democratic participation. Meanwhile, ProNous organised the study visit to Athens, focusing on social planning and youth participation in the public sphere. The methodology of the program centred on exchanging best practices between the two countries, with the objectives of strengthening youth participation and enhancing the capacity of the ProNous team. The initiative included educational tours, discussions, and seminars with experts, organizations, youth groups, and political representatives. The initiative began with three online preparatory meetings, followed by two study visits to Oslo and Athens, and concluded with awareness-raising activities led by ProNous members. The project is scheduled to run from November 2023 to April 2024, with the first three months dedicated to preparatory meetings aimed at fostering informal participatory dialogue and idea exchange among partners and members.
