The initiative concerns the study trip of Drama’s Ladies Union - House of Open Hospitality to Portugal that has the purpose to enhance networking, exchange, sharing and transfer of technology, experience and best practices. The study trip will take place in Lisbon, Portugal with the NGO “Alternative to Violence” as partner. The team will visit the NGO “The Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV)” which aims to inform, protect and support citizens who have been victims of crime. and the “CIG: Commission for citizenship and gender equality”, that aims to ensure that public policies
Summary of the results
The Ladies'' Union of Drama-H.O.H, in collaboration with the Norwegian organization "Alternative to Violence," undertook a four-day trip to Lisbon, Portugal, from March 19-23, 2023, as part of the Bilateral Relations of the Active Citizens Fund project. The mission aimed to strengthen partnerships and exchange best practices in supporting victims of violence. The group visited the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV), an NGO dedicated to assisting crime victims, particularly those affected by violence. They toured APAV’s headquarters, the Helpline management office, and a local Victim Support Office inside a police station. The delegation also visited the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), Portugal’s national body for gender equality, and explored various facilities, including a hostel providing emergency accommodation and information on primary prevention programmes.
