Summary of the results

The Union of Women’s Associations of Heraklion Prefecture (UWAH), University of Iceland, and The Root implemented the initiative focusing on improving services for homeless women. The project involved study visits to Iceland (Reykjavik) in January 2023 and Greece (Athens and Heraklion), facilitating discussions on gender-sensitive services, trauma-informed care, and harm-reduction strategies. The initiative aimed to strengthen support frameworks, raise awareness, and share knowledge between countries. Activities included meetings with key organizations, an information event with the City of Athens, and the development of a five-year strategic plan. The project fostered international collaboration and contributed to improving services for vulnerable women.
