Description

By meeting the Afasiforbundet team we will build the foundation for the long-term cooperation which will be enshrined in the bilateral treaty. We will be able to exchange expertise, practical experience, and best practice for the aftercare of people with aphasia, during the workshop with the participation of Czech and Norwegian professionals, therapists, and representatives of supporting entities. Also, we will identify the best practices for aphasia aftercare in Norway, which we will implement together in the Czech Republic, ensuring increased availability of this aftercare.

Summary of the results

Thanks to the initiative, CEREBRUM met 2 partners in the field of follow-up care for people with aphasia - the nationwide patient organization Afasiforbundet i Norge and the rehabilitation hospital Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital.

CEREBRUM experts got acquainted with the system of providing follow-up care to people with aphasia in Norway and with relevant methodology of follow-up care, which was specially created by experts from Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital. There was an exchange of expertise, practical experience and best practice concerning the aftercare of people with aphasia. CEREBRUM experts participated in group/individual therapies of people with aphasia at Sunnas Rehabilitation Hospital and discussed the possibilities of long-term cooperation in this area.

Bilateral agreement with Afasiforbundet and Norge was concluded, for the purpose of transferring the best/verified procedures in the framework of follow-up care for people with aphasia with the aim to ensuring increased availability of follow-up care for people with aphasia in the Czech Republic.
