Description

The aim of the project is to develop the talent of young Roma from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and to support them for further study of art disciplines.
We plan to take 3-4 young Romani women who are interested in art, especially video and photography, to Iceland, visit a film school in Reykjavík with them and take a trip around the island, during which participants will make a video and take photos. Students from the Icelandic Film School will support and help them, with whom the participants will be in contact even after the trip.

Summary of the results

The aim of the project was to support several young Roma in their artistic career and encourage them to study more deeply and professionalize. These Roma can be now an example for others and further develop their skills.Another goal was to show these young people Nordic education, which is considered an example of an inclusive approach, and also to bring Nordic art closer to young people. The NGO established cooperation with the Icelandic Film School and exchanged experiences and presented each other''s works. The change consisted in the fact that motivated young Roma artists got a deeper education and built their capacities, and thus they will in turn be a motivation for other young Roma. but also non-Roma.
