Description

The Rosenfeld Palace was designed by architect Mikuláš Rauter in 1907 as a miniaturised model of the Vienna Belvedere Palace. It is named after Ignác Rosenfeld and it is situated in historical centre in Žilina. It is an architectural jewel in the Art Nouveau style. The building has been preserved almost in its original state with many art and craft details. Besides monuments, art, art and architectural values of the palace is also valuable in terms of social significance. The main benefit of the project is the reduction of social inequalities through the promotion of Jewish cultural heritage. Its significance goes beyond the borders of Slovakia. In the future, after the reopening, the palace will be included into an existing circuit called "Jewish Žilina". The city of Žilina plans to establish in its premises the place for exhibitions, cultural and educational center with an extensive activity (temporary exhibits - photos, art, historical and ethnographic, music production, educational activities - adoptions of official visits, artists, natives, valued citizens, literary evenings, etc...)
