Description

The project is focused on the implementation of knowledge about climate change into environmental education at school and the implementation of water detention measures in the school area. The objective of the project is to increase awareness and education on climate change and measures for rainwater management.The project is expected to increase knowledge, awareness and education by involving 345 pupils and one partner organization.The project is going to achieve its goals by creating and promoting plans focused on rainwater management. Mainly pupils and children from Elementary School with Kindergarten are expected to benefit from the project implementation. The partnership will achieve dissemination of information on the activities that were carried out

Summary of project results

The content of the project with all the achieved objectives has enriched the awareness of the whole local community. Before the project was developed there hadn´t been many attempts to promote the green issue within the community nor the school community. It has brought the sustainable change at school area and more importantly in school curriculum and pupils minds. Thare have been a lot of lessons taght due to project outputs and goals. All the children no matter what age they are or class attend, use wisely under their teachers supervising a newly built wallipini greenhouse, water tanks, outdoor classroom or enjoy learning the trees planted. We consider the longer -term goal to be met. Within the project we made: project website, e-book, wallipini greenhouse, outdoor classroom with green roof, water tanks , different trees planted, a lot of lessons taght concerning the climate change and water management issue, leaflets, handouts, and most importantly the awareness of local community has been risen. The most beneficial and crucial result is the knowledge the school kids gained from the project activities and outcomes. Find the list of facts and figures achieved: 565 students and teachers involved in the project (345 planned), 11 institutions and partners involved in the project (3 planned), 28 lessons taught with the new curricular content (15 planned).
