Description

The project 'When local becomes global' addresses the priorities of the EEA Grants and Norway Grants, and especially the aim of conservation and revitalisation of cultural and natural heritage. Donor partner Vagen Vidergaende Skole together with the local partner will play an important role by exchanging the good practice example with both partner schools. The project is based on the cooperation between three schools, each of them strong in one part of the planned project's main outcome: the new tourist product based on heritage and implemented into the local environment for tourists. We can learn from each other about good practice examples and achieve the desired outcome as a multiplayer effect. The main objectives of the project are: to do research about natural and cultural heritage; to produce new tourist products; to implement the products; to organize three meetings by presenting the good practice examples; and to provide good dissemination material and exploitation of project results.

Summary of project results

The project »When local becomes global« adresses the priorities of The EEA Grants and Norway Grants funding ( Conservation and revitalisation of cultural and natural heritage). It is based on the cooperation between 3 schools, each of them strong in one part of the planed project main outcome: The new tourist product, based on heritage and implemented into the local environment for tourists. We learned from each other the good practice examples and achieve the desired outcome as a multiplayer effect. The main objectives were: - to do a research about natural and cultural heritage - to produce new tourist products - to implement the products - to organize 3 meetings by presenting the good practice examples - to provide good dissemination material and exploitation of project results The target groups that benefit from the project are teachers by exchange of good practice and new teaching methods, students (intercultural experience, language skills…), participating schools, local/regional environment, tourists. The partnership: - consolidate the good cooperation between schools and local environment - presented skills and competences of our students to the working environment - prepared the partnership for further larger strategic projects

Summary of bilateral results

Donor partner Vagen Vidergaende skole main contribution to the project is the good practice example of co-operation between school and local environment through the program Young entrepreneurship and other projects with local environment. Entrepreneurship is very important in education and they implemented the program into the curricula. The main outcome of the partnership are new developed tourist products that can be really implemented with the help of local environment. Each participating school lead one part of the project in connection to the good practice example: 1.Research: Agrupamento de Escolas de Barcelos; meeting in Portugal 2.Developement: School center Srečko Kosovel Sežana, meeting in Slovenia 3. Implementation: Vagen vidergaende skole, Sandnes, meeting in Norway By strengthening bilateral relations partners gained the possibility to apply for strategic partnership projects and other mobility projects. Each participating school organized one international partner's meeting in connection with local institutions (companies, other institutions)
