Description

The project Nå represents an upgrade of the field of International Cooperation at the Faculty of Design, where international cooperation is the added value to the curriculum and the basis for the international recognition of the faculty. With the implementation of student and staff mobility within the project Nå, ties between the Faculty and partner institutions from Norway and Iceland will be strengthened. The mobility project will allow for students, professors and other employees to receive training, learn new skills and learn about trends in the field of design. It will also allow for the dissemination of their knowledge and of examples of good practice in the host countries. Undoubtedly, the project will have an impact on raising the quality of study and ensure a flow of knowledge. The long-term goal of the project is the integration of the Faculty of Design into the international environment of Northern Europe, in which the prospective designers (students) are going to be faced with new challenges, other cultures, and a new pedagogical and professional approach.

Summary of project results

The project is very important to the Faculty of Design, because they are working on various themes that are concerning important issues of design management and other topics of design, that are not important just locally, nevertheless, more globally. They are aware, that they are opening issues, that not so many developed countries of Europe do and they are proud to be one of the leading countries and institutions, that brings together best practices and best know how from various experts of different European institutions. During the project they have also organized international scientific conference on the theme Design management, where they have hosted more than 150 guests and more than 25 international important experts on that topic. At the same time they have organized an international exhibition and as result they will publish the book of papers from the conference. Based on the positive results of the fruitful collaboration have been made and they are already planning new conference for the next year.

Summary of bilateral results

During the project implementation they organized an international scientific conference on the theme Design management, where they have hosted also a professor from Iceland Dóra Ísleifsdóttir, MA Design Programme Director & Professor, Visual Communication. With her knowledge, shared good case practices and different way of work and different approach to solving problems the professor contributed a great deal to the conference. Unfortunately they were not able to sign a bilateral agreement since her institution has reached sufficient number of signed bilateral agreements, but are still planning on further cooperation in future with other similar projects or at least mobilities.
