Description

The project aims to develop an integrated and sustainable programme that contributes to the promotion of equality of opportunities and gender within the community of Târnăveni, granting a special importance to the Roma community. The need to implement the project is based on the inequalities faced. The main objective of the project is to facilitate the reintegration on the labour market of women from Târnăveni by promoting the principles of gender equality and work life balance. The project targets the inhabitants from Târnăveni, focusing on the Roma population representing 10% of the total population. The reintegration on the labour market will be performed by developing the first centre for the supply of social services for children under 3 years old in the municipality. The project implements the principles of gender equality and sustainable development by organising round tables, workshops or seminars focusing on the development of social and civic competencies, especially among Roma women. The project will ensure the development of education and care services for a minimum of 60 children under 3 years old from Târnăveni municipality over a 20-month period. The project aims to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the families with children from Târnăveni by establishing an education and care centre for minimum 60 children under 3 years old from Târnăveni, out of which 15 have Roma origin. The project will moreover improve the knowledge level regarding the conditions necessary for the integration and reintegration on the labour market of 600 women from Târnăveni. Finally, the project will increase awareness on issues related to equality of opportunities and gender among 980 citizens from Târnăveni and, especially, among 655 Roma citizens, during the entire duration of the project. Considering the significant Roma population in Târnăveni, the project aims to sustain the social inclusion of Roma women.

Tarnaveni municipality, Mures county, has a project for 60 children, out of which 15 of roma ethnicity, with a grant value of 340.769 euros The project aims to improve the quality of life for families with children in the municipality of Târnăveni, by establishing a center for education and care of at least 60 children aged 0-3 years old from the municipality, of which at least 15 are Roma. The center gives children aged 0-3 years a growth suitable infrastructure, education and health care, thus supporting integration / reintegration of parents into the labor market. The project developed an integrated and sustainable way to help promote gender equality and the community of Târnăveni city, with special importance given to the Roma community. Through its skilled personnel, the daycare center has the ability to fill parental duties during the time in which they are unable to meet them. Through service in the nursery, the center creates an attractive environment using innovative methods to stimulate creative thinking, language development and accelerating through a child's early education necessary. The promoter held 3 workshops that aimed mothers, especially fighting gender discrimination, with emphasis on the integration on the labor market of Roma mothers. The promoter had some difficulties in the public procurement for the refurbishing company and in getting the permits for the construction as the center is hosted by a historical building.
