Description

In counties such as Dolj, Olt (South-West Region) are needed urgent integrated actions in order to reduce discrimination and social exclusion. The main objective of the project is to pilot innovative measures for decreasing the discrimination of vulnerable groups and socio-economical exclusion in local communities, strengthening the regional economic and social cohesion. More than 200 experts (including Roma) who are involved in field of services addressed to children and youth in risk will be trained. Also, a Strategy for local development and 3 pilot action-plans for 3 Consultative Community Councils from 3 targeted communities will be developed. These pilot action-plans will be implemented at local level.

Summary of project results

The project started as a result of an identified need for urgent integrated actions in order to reduce discrimination and social exclusion in counties such as Dolj, Olt (South-West Region). The main objective of the project was to pilot innovative measures for decreasing the discrimination of vulnerable groups and socio-economical exclusion in local communities, strengthening the regional economic and social cohesion. The project was a public-private partnership, including a partner from the Donor states, in order to contribute to reduction differences socio-economics in local communities from SUDOLT GAL through piloting innovative measures on combating discrimination of vulnerable groups. 215 experts (including Roma) who are involved in field of services addressed to children and youth in risk will be trained. Also, a Strategy for local development and 3 pilot action-plans for 3 Consultative Community Councils from 3 targeted communities will be developed. These pilot action-plans were implemented at local level. Through participation at training coursesorganized during the project implementation and the measures (coaching, supervizing, networking) was build the capacity to work for the vulnerable people. The main results of this projects are: set up the foundation for the Social Inclusion Network in Oltenia, who's memebers had 9 working meetings; 215 specilists were trained; a startegy for inclusion and local development was created; 3 action plans were created; a regional center for social inclusion was created in Craiova, at CRONO Association headquarter, the Project Promoter.

Summary of bilateral results

Under bilateral measure A, two representatives of CRONO Assotiation participated during 12 -15 of May 2014 at working meetings with one representative of the Arctic University of Norway. As a result of this meeting was established the partnership for the project. Betwwen 13 and 17 of April 2016 a delegation of 8 representatives of CRONO Association and of project partners participted at a study visit in Reykjavik, Iceland. The aim of the study visit was to foster the exchange of good practices and practical know-how between the Icelandic organizations and Romanian representatives concerning the social advisory services, strategic planning, reducing the exclusion of vulnerable groups, and participation of citizens in developing the community. During the project implementation, the project partner from Norway - the Arctic University of Norway, through its experts and with the support of the Romanian project partners, developed a study regarding good practice the project impact and also a study on inclusive planning process and it was published in the form of a guide adressed to specialists working in social inclusion field. During the project implementation, a study visit was organized in Norway, with participation of the project team (management and implemetation team as well), in order to excange knoledge on conflict management, mediation and other methodes for decreasing conflict and to increase social cohesion.
