Through the project Critical mass for quality education through evidence-based public policies, Learn&Vision Association and the Center for the Study of Democracy will set up and develop the capacity of a national coalition that will promote and actively contribute to evidence-based policy-making in education. The need for this project is dictated by the absence of a coalition of educational NGOs and hence the manner in which decision-making in education-related issues is made in Romania; there is an acute shortage of national-level research about the significant aspects of education (access, quality, equity), and of evaluation data about the impact of education policies implemented and changes introduced in the system. The major results will be a functional coalition with the capacity to get actively involved in promoting evidence-based public policies, a platform of resources and communication between the coalition and the community, a national level advocacy campaign. The target groups are 12 educational NGOs with research and/or policy-making initiatives and 12 key public education institutions.
Summary of project results

Through the project, Learn&Vision Association and the Center for the Study of Democracy set up and developed the capacity of a national coalition that promotes and actively contributes to evidence-based policy-making in education. The main change that this project has brought is a change of perspective in terms of public policies in the field of education, rethinking the future vision on education. Researches carried out in education are many and very serious, but they are ignored or not known by decision-making authorities. CALIEDU Coalition and its online platform built during this project serve this purpose: selecting relevant researches to base public policies that will be posted on the CALIEDU platform and carrying out research within the CALIEDU Coalition, under the scientific commission’s supervision, after identifying significant weaknesses that are in the education system. The most important results of the project are: one Coalition of educational NGOs comprised of 12 members, which have the ability to actively engage in public policy development and advocacy companies for education, developed; 12 resource persons from NGOs members of CALIEDU trained in the cycle of policymaking; an electronic platform for resources and communication with the community of those interested in the field of education –
