Description

Project description: Menos produces packaging from corrugated cardboard with one or tricolour printing on the cardboard boxes. The aim of the project is the purchase new, innovative and more energy efficient machines, as well as the software which allow to elimination of internal and external circuit a paper document. Menos invest into a new printing machine, a flexographic printer, used in the production of cardboard packages, and state-of-the-art equipment for the design laboratory, where is prepared the prototypes production. Project objectives: • Reduction of electricity waste • Reduction of water intake and sewage by 55% • Gain of the production pace and efficiency • Reduction of the negative environmental impact during the production process Outcome indicators: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas - 2 • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 35 tones/ year • Reduction of ink use by 1060 kg/ year

Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to purchase new, energy efficient machines, as well as software enabling elimination of paper documents from the internal and external circulation. The use of a new flexographic printer will produce electricity savings, decrease water consumption and reduce printing ink losses. Implementing the innovative solutions in the production process reduces usage of electric energy by 30% and 50% of water usage. The investment allows to reduce CO2 emission (35 tons/ year) and SO2 (0,1 Mg/ year). It also effects on lower consumption of cardboard, water (by 210 m3/year) and ink (by 1060 kg/ year).
