Description

Project description: Chroma is a printing house company. The main objective of the project is to implement a “green printing” technology, called H-UV through installing a newly bought, high-tech machine. H-UV is an innovative process of drying with the use of UV. This merge of conventional print and UV radiation ensures, for example an immediate drying of sheets, short production cycles, possibility to print on difficult surfaces and dusting minimization. This solution will contribute to raising green resources exploitation from 67% to 93%. Project objectives: • Improvement the printing technology and internal workplace environment; • Reduction of energy consumption, costs associated with the printing materials and paper waste Outcome indicators: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas – 1 • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 64,4 tons/year

Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to implement H-UV “green printing” technology. The technology ensures, among others, immediate drying of paper sheets, short production cycles, a possibility to print on difficult surfaces and minimization of dusting. It is less environmentally harmful and more efficient than a technology which is used earlier in Chroma. This solution has contributed to increasing the use of “green” resources in the company from 67% to 93%. Implementing of an innovative printing machine reduced energy consumption by 70% and reduced ozone emission into 0 and decreased paper waste.
