Description
Techniflex is a company manufacturing abrasive wheels and will undertake a project focused on creating a hybrid system made from photovoltaic installation located on the roof of the company’s buildings, and also PV panels, recuperation, LEDs installed in staff facilities and offices, production halls and warehouses. Despite the fact that company lies in mountain region forecasted saving of consumed energy and own produced energy will amount in total to 39% per year. The project objectives area as follows: • Increasing the use of renewable energy sources through the use of the hybrid installation • Reducing emission of greenhouse gases by replacing coal with renewable energy sources • Decreasing the demand for electric energy produced mainly in the process of burning fossil fuels Outcome indicators are foreseen to be: • Number of environmental technologies successfully applied for use in new areas - 3 • Reduction in CO2 emissions – 460,2 tones/ year
Summary of project results
The project aimed to install photovoltaic panels and LED lights in the company's powerplant in order to reduce power consumption from the grid. Achieving a reduction of CO2 emissions was especially important as the factory lies in a Natura 2000 protected area. The company implemented the project according to the plan with no delays. The application of LED lighting, PV and solar collectors installation reduced energy consumption from the grid by 39%. This means reduction of CO2 by 460 tons a year.
