Description

A beneficiary of 27/NMF project “Search of persons that hide from the justice – international exchange of experiences and good practices” run in the period between 01.05.2015 and 30.04.2016 is Commander-in-Chief of the Police (ul. Puławska 148/150, 02-624 Warsaw). The project objective is to increase the capacity to prevent and combat cross-border and organised crime, increase the information exchange channels utilisation rate and increase the level of effectiveness of the national and foreign cooperation in the field of international search. The objective will be achieved by exchange of knowledge and experiences at international level in the field of search of persons that hide from the justice, including in non-Schengen countries, by building new and strengthening already existing international contacts and by identification of strengths and weaknesses of the official information exchange channels.

Summary of project results

The main objective of the project was to enhance the abilities of the Police in preventing and counteracting cross-border and organized crimes and the raise of the use of information exchange channels like SIS II, SIRENE, SIENA, ENFAST. Project was also to improve language skills of the Police officers what positively affected the level of the national and international cooperation efficiency of cross-border searching. Additionally, the project resulted in better quality of data in national and international systems and the level of its usefulness, better security and public order in Poland and Schengen Zone. The goals have been achieved also by networking and strengthening of international contacts and relations. Within the framework of the project several activities have been prepared: - 3 proffesional trainigs on a. Static and dynamic techniques and methods of surveillance, b. Exchange of good practices and experience concerning searching for fugitives, c. Use of investigative computer technology in contracting organized crimes. - Language courses for the Central Police Investigation Bureau officers, - International conference with police officers from Europeat Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams and participants from European countries.
